Came for a Sunday roast. It was lovely. A shame there isn’t an alternative option for vegetarians other than nut roast. I am a vegetarian but also allergic to nuts. They kindly added more vegetables but I was charged the same for my friend who had roast beef which seemed a little off. Otherwise lovely service.

Everything was cooked to perfection and beautifully presented, and the staff were friendly and attentive without being intrusive. This is the second time I’ve eaten at The Plough in recent weeks, and both meals have been outstanding. Prices are below the norm, yet the quality of the food and the service are second to none. I am always cautious about making recommendations, but I have absolutely no hesitation in wholeheartedly recommending The Plough at Whitegate. You will not be disappointed!
The Plough at Whitegate – NorthwichTwo of us and we both had fish, peas, skinny fries - small size. The fish was OK. Have had much nicer mushy peas at other places, yours were not tasty. We both has skinny fries - on one plate they looked fine on my plate some looked like they were from the bottom of the fryer very small and bitty. Not a meal to encourage a return visit.

Our party of 5 included a vegan and a pescatarian so we often struggle with places for us all to eat outside a city centre. However we were very impressed with the menu at the Plough. There were choices for all of our group. The food arrived altogether after a short wait and everyone was impressed with their meals. Lovely and hot and incredibly tasty. There were even desserts that we were all able to enjoy. Our server even went to check with the kitchen that one of our choices was vegan, which it was. Overall we had a fantastic time. The restaurant itself had a lovely atmosphere and was very clean. The servers were all very cheery too. Our food was delicious and very well priced and we will definitely be booking again.

Food order taken, no fuss and lovely service from a very polite young man. The beef and ale pie was outstanding full of delicious cuts of beef. Perfect infact. The garlic chicken however just did not work. Clumpy rice from cooking process. Far too much sauce on the rice making it soaked. Sauce would work better in a jug. The chicken was a poor cut with fatty waste infact the bits I serve my pet at home. Just did not work as a dish. The green beans are cold on the side too. This dish definitely needs review n presentation. Lovely service all the way though.

Holdi – NorthwichThis is a fantastic pub with log fires, home cooked food served by friendly staff. Portions are big and prices are reasonable. This is the place to take friends who you want to impress. We are regulars in the sense we travel over 20 miles to get there and visit about five times a year.
