The food we had was ok but the service was terrible we waited 1 hour & 25 minutes after ordering we were told there was a 35 minute wait for the food but it was clearly much longer! Which we all felt wasn’t acceptable

The Plough at Whitegate – NorthwichWe booked to take my parents out for meal on Saturday 29/03/25 at 1.30pm for my mums birthday and Mother’s Day. When we got there the place was busy but only had 2 staff on. We were told there was up to 1 hour wait for food as they were low staff and very busy. When my mother ordered liver we were told they never had any as it had not been delivered yet. After ordering our food we waited for over 1 hour for the food to come and when mine & my husband’s mix grills turned up all the meat was cold. We asked for the streak to be med rare when it came it was well done and cold. Not once did any staff come to ask if the food was ok as I wanted to return the mix grills. We waited 20 minutes for someone to take our order for drinks, after taking the order the drinks never came as there was no staff so my husband had to go get the drinks himself from the bar. When we tried to order dessert my father was told they don’t have custard to go with the apple pie but it was on on

However upon arriving we were served drinks and then were told there were no more Sunday Roasts. We left and went to another pub in the same chain where we received a lovely Sunday Dinner. Unlikely to return

He was very assertive and accommodated our needs throughout the time we were there. Only negative for us was that there was no white Pinot Grigio available to drink.

The Plough at Whitegate – NorthwichExcellent food and service at a reasonable price. A little bit noisy at the time we were there, but that's probably due to the afore mentioned food and service. I would recommend trying this venue, but, best book in advance. It is quite popular.

Full menu available but the trio Sunday roast looked too good to miss. Very impressed with portion size for main meal. Not as great for pudding as a bit small for the price although quality was excellent. Overall good value for money. We will return
