Very busy last Thursday but no excuse for poor service. Arrived at 13.00 and ordered our main meals (gammon steak) at 13.15 did not arrived until 13.45 despite a couple of reminders. Unfortunately despite booking got the table nearest the door and in a freezing draught. Worse still elderly 2 men on a table virtually touching ours coughing away to the point when we both felt really annoyed .

The food and the staff are excellent, but I have been twice within a few days ans on both occassions requesrted a quiet table. on both occassions we were seated very close to speakers playing music that we all agreed was far to loud. on the first occassion we were told that we were in the bar as we had requested a quieter area, but the corner of our table was situated directly beneath a speaker.

After completing one of The Plough’s circular walks with our dog, we returned to the bar side to have a great meal and good beer. A warm and friendly welcome.

Back within a week to share lunch with two friends. We all ate a different main and each one was delicious and plentiful. They were most impressed and will be back again soon. Thanks so much

We have often called in during the week, but this was our first Sunday dinner at the Plough. It was excellent. We got a friendly welcome and prompt service. I had a roast beef dinner and husband had turkey. The meals were hot, very tasty and huge! Eight different vegetables including the biggest roasties ever! Thanks to all - we both fell asleep when we got home!

Four of us had a lunch at The Plough. Nice place, but has music on constantly which is always a minus for us. Food and service were good and good value.

Excellent meal and great service.

Went for early Saturday lunch so venue was quiet and lacked a bit of a buzz but that was because we were so early. Food was excellent, particularly the Cajun Penne Pasta. Just the right amount of kick. Attentive service without being oppressive. Would return

Food and beer was nice, the food being piping hot and very tasty. Staff were friendly and attentive. Only slight downside was the crumble of the Chicken Leek and Tarragon crumble was powdery not crunchy, but this did not detract from the taste.

The Plough never disappoints from the meal, staff and atmosphere, it's always spot on.

Yet again we had another beautiful meal on boxing day. Took our parents and they were very impressed. Service was quick and and very friendly .

Went with husband and brother n sister in law Had the best time service and food was amazing atmosphere was lovely we had the Christmas meal it was so good Charlotte the manger and Scot the head chef are both amazing work so hard to make your time at the plough perfect.

Had the Sunday roast, Turkey was lovely, carrot and turnip yummy and also cabbage, roast potatoes taste like they were made the day before and Yorkshire pudding inedible burnt and taste like ash! Friendly staff would go again but would have Sunday dinner

Great village pub in Whitegate,Food was excellent the staff were friendly and helpful,The restaurant was done up lovely for Christmas,Will certainly be going back and Iooking forward to it already.

Not the first time I’ve been. The atmosphere was great. The food was good and staff were happy to accommodate an off menu choice for two members of our party. We had a nice relaxed lunch to celebrate a birthday. Couldn’t fault it.
