What can you say about the plough . It’s amazing great atmosphere with the cosy fire burning on an old Sunday afternoon. Wonderful menu to cater for all fantastic staff front of house and the food is always delicious from the fantastic chefs Thank you

Our dance group had a nice meal and catch up. Food was good and main meals reasonably priced. Only a few had room for dessert, which were a bit pricey. Will no doubt be back again.

New Years Eve meal very good and service excellent, but it was very quiet. Booked for 20:00 and pub closed at 22:30 but no coffees or tea available at 21:20 as “machine turned off”. We weren’t rushed out or anything but nothing to stay for.

The Plough at Whitegate is lovely surroundings with tasty food choices and not too expensive for the great quality they serve. The staff are lovely and friendly and hardworking. We had a lovely meal there recently. Would recommend and visit this establishment again.

Had the most delicious lunch yesterday ... perfect large haddock and scampi and the new chips which were excellent (and red hot!). Great service as always despite being busy. Best place to eat round here by a long way

Great pub with excellent food., good beer and friendly staff. Be aware though that children can’t eat inside the pub, so not really young family friendly.

Went for lunch with friends, greeted by a friendly team . Had starters and mains which was delicious. Only criticism being I opted for the roast chicken which was cooked perfectly with plenty of sauce but, lots of potatoes and only a little spinach, would have been perfect with a little colourful veg. Service was great always enjoy visiting the Plough

Lovely evening. We had ordered from the festive menu which we pre ordered. The food was delicious. The very small issue we had was the starters were served the moment we sat down. We didn’t really have time to speak to one another and the food came. Felt a little rushed. Nevertheless we would definitely book again. Atmosphere and food were great.

Wonderful pub excellent atmosphere staff were great. Food absolutely fantastic so tasty. And very reasonable prices. Guest ales were good. Was a great evening.

My husband and I enjoyed afternoon tea on 9/12/2025 The sandwiches were turkey and stuffing, ham and cheese. There was plenty of sandwiches and all were very tasty. We also enjoyed large pigs in blankets with a dip. Of course the cakes were delicious, carrot, brownie and chocolate plaits and mince pies. Tea/coffee was included. We thoroughly enjoyed our tea and Christmas crackers

Had a fantastic meal all the meals were cooked to perfection and a good choice to choose from the staff were excellent from the minute we arrived to when we left Thank you very much for a wonderful evening

My wife and I visited The Plough The reception on arrival was very good our table was waiting for us and the staff although were very busy were very pleasant. We both ordered the mixed grill and it was one of the best meals that we have had for a long time.
