I just stumbled across Mistal Kitchen online & booked it for my friend’s birthday brunch. It was probably one of the best brunches I’ve ever had - delicious, generous portion (I had the Smokey Beans on Toast) & in a cosy and charming setting. It’s dog friendly and just across from Otley Chevin car park so we walked off our brunch afterwards. They sell great takeaway cakes & pastries at the till as well as some lovely looking artisanal pantry goods to take home. I highly recommend this place - I’ll be back very soon & repeatedly I think!

Masala fries are incredible. Friendly atmosphere and great service. Dog friendly.

I absolutely love the Mistal, very courteous and patient after I messed them about with the number of guests dining. The brioche toast was the best I have ever eaten. I will be back.

2nd excellent visit in 2 weeks. Soup is outstanding.

I booked a week in advance hoping to have a full lunch with friends but was very disappointed when we turned up that 3 main options had sold out by 1 pm. In fact what we ended up settling for was delicious but I hadn't really wanted 'something on toast' for my main meal of the day. Also most of the cake options had gone. They seemed surprised to be popular and busy....but catering for more rather than less shouldn't be a problem for vegetarian places where the food will 'keep'. If they get the above right they'd be brilliant!

We had friends visiting from Scotland so I booked a table. For the second time we were given the table upstairs which lacks atmosphere and gets warmer the longer you stay! I’ll request a table downstairs next time I go. Whilst our drinks were served quickly unfortunately we then had a wait of 50 minutes before the food turned up, by which time we were getting a bit fed up! Luckily the food was worth the wait though and everyone enjoyed it. I had the curried cauliflower and chickpea wrap which was really good.

Tasty food; friendly and helpful service; pleasant atmosphere. Great for those of us who want strictly vege/vegan food when eating away from home.

This is my fourth visit to Mistal because I love it so much. Came with my colleagues this time for lunch/afternoon to use the ‘wellness workspace’. Hot chocolate and lemon cake were delicious. I usually have the amazing avocado/peas on toast and poached eggs when I come, but this time I had the sweet potato ciabatta which was very flavourful. I plan to keep returning :)

My first visit to Mistal yesterday (although many to the Cheerful Chilli, in the past) and a thoroughly enjoyable lunch, made even better by having our dog under the table. My Eggs Benny was to die for, with lashings of divine Hollandaise. I absolutely have to return to eat that again. Lovely quiet atmosphere in an idyllic location; an opportunity to walk off the indulgence of so much butter!

Wow wow wow! Compliments to the chef, the food was delicious!! I had avocado with peas on dough dough, added poached egg and mushrooms with hash browns and it was insane!!! I used the wellness work space which had a lovely chilled calming atmosphere! Staff all lovely, and the furnishings so comfortable! Highly recommend the cakes, I had lemon drizzle! Best lemon drizzle I have ever had! Can’t wait to come back

I really enjoyed my avocado on sourdough and the coffee was lovely but my gluten intolerant partner was quite disappointed with her cheese and pickle ploughmans. The GF bread used was the standard, cheapest option available in the supermarket. Given the price and the quality of the non-GF food, we expected more.

Went for lunch, coffee and cakes on Saturday. Really gorgeous food and they had something suitable for my friend's children. Quick service and very friendly staff. Would recommend!

Took family new years eve, very disappointing meal off the Xmas menu. Main course cold and not what 3 out of 4 of us had ordered. I have been going there a few years now and travel from Harrogate as I very much enjoyed the food. I complained and was fobbed off saying mistakes happen and offered a take away 2 take home. A very disappointing end of year family meal.

Went there for a birthday lunch on Sunday 26th October. The food was truly awful, very slow service, vegetables not cooked and would you believe that one if our party ordered breaded garlic mushrooms which arrived with some mushrooms on a piece of bread swimming in creamy sauce. I could go on but I won't. Just so sad that it was a let down as my family came from down south. Not a good advertisement for northern cuisine and won't be going again.
