5 fussy eaters all enjoyed lunch yesterday. Everyone had a different choice from the menu and each one was enjoyed. No room for dessert!

Queues at the bar and a long wait for food. We visited The Abingdon Arms for the first time on a Tuesday lunchtime having heard a lot about this community pub. The location is amazing with fantastic views from the rear garden where we had lunch. However, it seemed there was only one person working other than the chef so waiting times were significant for everything. This did probably put us off visiting again to be honest and we left after some good food without the difficulty of getting another drink.

The meal was fine except for piece of green plastic in one person’s fish pie. This was drawn to attention of waitress and again when the bill was settled. Had to wait a long time for food to arrive.

Since we had previously enjoyed a Sunday Lunch here, we brought some visiting friends last Sunday. Sadly the food was cold - we all had the roast pork- vegetables cold, roast potatoes and gravy cold. Yorkshire puddings we’re cold and chewy. Very disappointing!

Wonderful afternoon with family, listening to dixieland jazz, eating tasty pizzas and drinking good beer and wine in the sunshine

Came here for the views, stayed for the food!! Service was absolutely delightful and helpful. They were only set int pizzas but they still had a gluten free/low gluten option and honestly was one of the best pizzas I've had in the UK. Love that they were dog friendly. Can't wait to come back and try the Sunday Roast!

Lovely location with beautiful views. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Unfortunately some menu items were no longer available. We opted for a Sea Bass daily special. The fish was delicious but it came with an odd side of what appeared to be reheated roast potatoes. I had read about this on another review. It’s an odd choice. I think you need to think up another potato alternative as it spoiled the meal somewhat.

Food not up to previous standards and the non-pizza menu very limited. Caesar salad overpriced . Service slow.

Booked a table for a very clearly advertised 'al a carte menu day' .. drove a good 35 mins to find on arrival they were only serving Pizza. Did not stay, They could have had the courtesy to send a message. This is a lovely pub which my family love but very disappointing on this occasion

On a very hot evening, the terrace with fabulous views was just what we needed. The pizzas were delicious - just how we like them.

Fabulous pub in a glorious location! Sitting on the outside deck, overlooking the beautiful countryside on a sunny day - what more do you need?! We’ve visited before, but only for a drink after going to RSPB Otmoor. Yesterday we visited with friends and despite the heat, there was a good menu selection available and staff were very friendly and welcoming. The food was delicious and we always enjoy a cold pint of Lucky Saint on tap! We will definitely be back, and highly recommend the Abingdon Arms

Lovely food and drink but the side salad was a waste of space with limp lettuce and doused in too much dressing

I am sorry to write this - we have been to the Abingdon Arms multiple times - however service and food on Sat night was poor. Dry chicken & mushroom pie (tasted like it has just been reheated) and long wait for service & food

Disappointing meal yesterday. My sea bass was a tiny fillet and the veg consisted of 3 overcooked roast potatoes, very greasy mixture of parsnip and carrots and a little broccoli. Have had the catch of the day before which was much nicer and served with more appropriate fresh vegetables. Very noisy too as a couple of ladies groups were there too and enjoyed themselves at the top of their voices which meant my brother in law could not hear our own conversation. We really like this pub and would like to think that it will return to better food standards in future.

We both had cashew nut curry but were disappointed as it arrived only reasonably warm so sent the food back to be reheated. We had Jude’s salted caramel ice cream in pots which had very little flavour and not a patch on the ice cream you used to serve in scoops. Think it’s time to have new menus as these dishes seem to have been offered for more than a year.

I wish I’d read some of the reviews before booking our lunch yesterday. The welcome was lukewarm warm as was the food. I really feel that you could with a little effort make a big difference. Please try.
