Fantastic to see this lovely country inn brought back to life under new ownership. The new, smart but casual, comfortable makeover has lifted the interior, and given it a most convivial ambiance. The food too has been taken to another level, and all the dishes were exemplary, including by far the best, properly cooked burger I have had in years. Challenging times to open a pub to say the least, The Blowing Stone Inn deserves the fullest praise and every success.

We had dinner at The Blowing Stone last night and it was absolutely delicious. All three courses were beautifully presented , very filling and really well cooked. The table service was excellent and the staff were very welcoming and attentive. I would , without hesitation, recommend The Blowing Stone to family and friends and will definitely go back for another meal.

We had dinner on Friday night and the chef can definitely cook. The flavours were amazing and really well thought out and the menu was varied. The wine list interesting and varied. These guys know what they’re doing and I hope they stay for years to come.

We enjoyed a fantastic lunch at The Blowing Stone Inn. The menu had a great variety of light bites and main means, including excellent vegetarian options. We sat in the bar area which was nice and cosy with a warm fire. The atmosphere was lovely and we had a very nice afternoon. We look forward to going back again soon!

The Blowing stone Inn has reopened in the 4th of Dec under new? Management. We decided to try out there lunch menu. The pub is set in the lovely village of Kingston Lisle . There is plenty of parking , out door and indoor seating. The pub is well appointed and the new owner Paul very helpful and friendly . There is a very good range of alcohol to choice from particularly Gin . The lunch menu offered a reasonable amount of choice including vegetarian options. Which important to my wife. The good was excellent the prices good. Overall a good start for the new ownets. We wish them well and will definitely return to try out more of the food and deserts .

We went to the opening night at the Blowing stone. The dinner was exceptional. Absolutely delicious and the landlord and his wife and son were wonderful hosts. I would totally recommend the pub to all my friends.

Great food, quality beer and wine, history and good rooms! What a find just outside Burford. The French fish soup and shoulder of lamb were perfect and great service from the friendly and informative member of staff.

My family and I were regular customers at the rats castle . Always found the owner to be a good guy and certainly no problems. He always had stunning young ladies waitressing and they all seemed to like working there.

My daughter worked at the Rats Castle before going on to Uni and Mr Diamond was a good boss and never improper to us or our daughter. We were sorry to see it closed. Alli

Over years we were frequent customers at The Rats and found the owner Mr Diamond to be kind polite and a super host. We had various Birthdays and celebrations there and couldn't fault it or him at all. Mandy

Deceitful padding of the bill. The three of us went on Sunday, and chose the £10.95 Sunday Special menu: any starter; any main; any rice or nan; ice cream or tea/coffee. In addition we ordered a bottle of their Merlot [[£14.95] and three poppadoms. So I was surprised to get a bill for £61.60. I couldn't see how they got from £47.80 to £61.60 via just three poppadoms. When I queried it, they explained that the poppadoms [70p] came with chilllies and chutneys [70p], to add £4.20. And of the ice creams we were offered, ONLY the plain vanilla [£1.80] was included in the menu [this was nowhere made clear], and the chocolate ones [£3.20] we chose were added at full price. So £47.80 plus £4.20 for 3 poppadoms plus £9.60 for the ice creams gets us to £61.60. They eventually, after a further phone call and haggling with the manager, offered a partial refund. I told them that they could keep my money; but NOT their reputation. A V O I D !!!

This was a complete disappointment. The food was less than average for the price. Pasta dishes were tasteless and the manager wasn't particularly interested in happy customers! Only saving grace was the waitress who was lovely! Don't waste your money, there are loads of better places to eat in Oxford - wish I'd gone to Bill's!

Brilliant- this is a wonderful new Japanese restaurant- the best place in Oxford. I hesitate to recommend it because my guess is it will soon be hard to get a table.

We all had a lovely meal at Ask in Oxford. I had a very pleasant lasagne with rocket side salad and a nice Chianti. Would return to Ask
