Once again a lovely meal ,, thoroughly enjoyed our evening. Lovely pleasant staff.

Having been highly recommended we paid a visit to this restaurant and we found the staff very helpful, friendly and the food was lovely, you don’t mind paying a little extra for food when it’s cooked perfectly and served hot and fresh , great menu especially the puds … so many yummy ones to choose from . We went on a Tuesday night and it was full , we did book online tha same day but I think in the summer holidays you will need to book earlier, we will definitely be booking again. !

Lovely Sunday roast, couldn't manage it all but the dog was happy with the roast beef i brought back for him.

The food was outstanding! Best lamb I’ve ever eaten! The wine was also very good. We didn’t have to wait long for our food, everything was presented very nicely and the staff were friendly and helpful. My only negative was that during our meal our waiter didn’t come to ask if everything was ok and/or check if we wanted anything else. Overall we had a great meal and would highly recommend to others.

One of the best meals, I've ever eaten! Scallops, belly pork and cauliflower puree,what a combination and the cod in coconut sauce was fabulous and both sets of fish were so fresh! The poen star martini were that good,bi had to have two!

From the warm welcome to being seated in the cosy restaurant with the excellent food and served by an attentive Staff we would recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Inside was pleasant and cool. Very organised. All the waitresses were exceptional. Friendly and attentive. It was our 33rd wedding anniversary. We thoroughly enjoyed it and will be back.

I booked a party of 9 in for dinner at Y Sgwar and the meal as well as the wine choices were first class and everyone in my party agreed

The food is so delicious and the staff are so pleasant and helpful. The salmon was so mouth watering good along with the roasted vegetables. And the Toffee cheese cake with icecream and a requested pot of pouring cream was again delicious. So see you all again soon.

Sunday roast adventure, served up with a side of chuckles! We had a 2-course feast booked for 14:45, but yours truly got a bit antsy and rang up to see if we could sneak in earlier. Lo and behold, the stars aligned, and they said, “Yippee, come on down!” So, we practically sprinted over, bellies rumbling like a couple of hungry badgers. Walking in, the place was fresh as a daisy and clean enough to eat off the floor (not that we tried, mind you). The decor screamed “modern pub chic” with a vibe so cozy you’d think you were at your nan’s for Sunday lunch, but with better lighting and fewer doilies. For starters, we dove into the prawn cocktail, and blimey, it was divine—like a retro seaside holiday in a glass. The prawns were juicy, but I’ll be honest, I was left wishing for a few more of those little pink fellas to keep the party going. Still, it was a proper nostalgic treat that had us grinning like kids at a sweet shop. Then came the mains, and oh boy, we were in for it. I went for the lamb, and the missus tackled the beef. Both were cooked to perfection, dripping with flavor, and served with all the trimmings—crispy roasties, veg that didn’t taste like sadness, and a Yorkshire pud so big it could double as a life raft. The gravy? Liquid gold, mate. By the end, we were so bloated we could’ve rolled out the door like a pair of human beach balls. Worth every waddle. All in all, a belter of a Sunday roast that left us stuffed, chuffed, and already plotting our next visit. Just chuck in a few extra prawns next time, yeah? 10/10, would bloat again!

We were staying in the local area and wanted a nice meal out. We found the restaurant online with lots of great reviews and booked a table. The staff were very accommodating and explained the specials. We both had the black pudding Scotch Eggs to start. They were amazing, I cut it in half and the eggs was runny. I had a half lobster and it was cooked really nicely. My husband had the lamb and it was cooked so well. A big shout out to the chef and staff for an amazing evening with food cooked to perfection.

Such lovely food and friendly staff. First night of our holiday and we managed to get a late table (8.30). The seabass was beautifully done, arrived quickly. The staff were fun and friendly. Diolch!

The restaurant was recommend by our host at a B&B nearby. We had an excellent meal that surpassed our expectations. Every course was excellent and the special for the day (grilled lobster with garlic butter) was just amazing as was the sticky toffee pudding! If you are in the Porthmadog area it’s worth a visit!
