The food was excellent and the staff were friendly and efficient. I would recommend this restaurant if you want great food in a lovely atmosphere.

What a super find. Greeted by a very welcoming lady called Lorraine, who was most attentive towards us throughout our meal. We sat by the log burner with a drink and ordered our meal in a relaxed atmosphere. The meal itself was exquisite. Scallops, belly pork starter followed by an 8oz Fillet steak cooked to perfection. The dessert of choice had to be Bakewell tart with custard and 2 spoons!! Highly recommend this establishment. Great selection of 0% beverages.

We changed our booking at the last minute and the staff were very accommodating. The restaurant was very friendly and the staff were polite and helpful. The meal was outstanding with quality ingredients beautifully prepared and presented. We had so much to eat I had to miss out on the crème brûlée! We will be back.

My wife had the scallops for her starter and the duck for her main. She enjoyed her meal immensely. I had the chicken liver pate and the ribeye steak with the extra Stilton sauce. The pate was delicious. The steak was as expected, cooked perfectly and flavoursome. The sauce, unfortunately was congealed and tasteless. The chips soggy, which was a shame. Overall, we enjoyed ourselves, I shall, if we visit again will avoid the extra sauce and hopefully the chips I received were a one off. We really wanted to tip the staff for their service but as we had no cash on us….who does these days….we couldn’t as the payment machine hasn’t the ability to allow this.

The best sunday roast I have ever eaten! It was delicious! Great service, great atmosphere. Already booked to return for the A La carte menu!

We booked the restaurant for a Sunday lunch. We both thoroughly enjoyed the experience, the food was excellent as was the service. The restaurant was busy with a great atmosphere. The bill was not to scary at all, great value for money. Would highly recommend. Many thanks.

My wife and I visited on Saturday night, the restaurant was busy but the service was excellent The mussels starter is delicious and more like main than a starter I had the hake with lobster bisque which was Devine , my wife had the cod with a curry sauce , it was equally delicious with loads of big prawns With a lovely bottle of ‘bone dry’ wine this was a wonderful evening Oh and the wood burner as you come in is lovely and warm and great to sit by while we waited for our lift home

We love coming to Y Sgwar when we visit Porthmadog. The service is friendly, there is a nice ambiance inside and the food is excellent. The flavour in the bruschetta starter was amazing, and the crispy skin on the bass, along with the lovely sauce was excellent. The early bird menu is good value and has good choice. We hope this restaurant retains its friendliness and high quality for a long time.

This Restaurant is lovely, this is my Special place! I’ve never had a bad Meal here ever.. Last night was Beautiful the food is of the best Standard. The Staff are So lovely, helpful and Polite. If you haven’t been here Add it to a bucket list it’s Lovely. I will Definitely be there again in the future! Thank you
