Having read the other good reviews, it is with little surprise Y Sgwar is getting another one! Upon arrival, staff were immediate to get us seated and explained the specials and menus. The halloumi salad starter, and pork and scallop starters were very well presented and tasted fantastic. Cocktails sampled were the espresso martini, apperol spritz and pink fairy (host explained history of making). All of which went down well in between, and with meals. Mains arrived (chicken, and lamb) and these were raising the bar higher as these were again delicious and well presented. Having not fully finished the mains as we were feeling a little full, there was still room for desserts (of course) and we particularly liked the brownie flavour and texture, accompanied with vanilla ice cream and sweet. Overall - really nice meal on our last evening of holiday at a restaurant in the centre of Tremadog. The staff (host and floor staff) were great, the food of great quality, drinks well made, location easy to access, and for all of this we will aim to return next time we are in the area.

Lovely food but the restaurant was far too hot! It really ruined the meal as we rushed to eat and leave. Service was fantastic and food was really tasty, just shame about the heat!

We have been eating at this restaurant for many years now and we have seen it grow from quite a small restaurant to what it is now the food is always top quality as is the atmosphere and the staff are always friendly and polite , to be honest you would be hard pushed to find a fault . We love it.

Wonderful again. Probably our third visit to Y Sgwâr and yet again it delivers 5 stars. The ambiance is great, friendly but efficient. The food is the undoubted start performer. I have tried a range of menu offers from lamb to steaks to fish and this restaurant never fails to deliver the most exquisite of flavours and textures, food in perfect balance. It is our go to place in North Wales and worth every penny.

We visit as often as we can. The food is fantastic. Last night I had the Welsh Lamb. Not usually a fan but heard wonderful things. The lamb was beautiful.

Three of us enjoyed a delicious evening meal at Y Sgwar on 11 August. Service was outstanding...efficient but also friendly and understanding. Main courses looked beautiful and tasted as good as they looked. Vegetarian, Vegan and meat-eating options were relished! Desserts were equally well presented and yummy! All in all, this was a meal to remember and a restaurant and staff of high quality. We'll be back! Many thanks to everyone.

Fantastic food and brilliant staff. This is our favorite place to eat when on holiday in North Wales. The menu is simple but has something delish for everyone. We all had food envy when looking at what each other had ordered. The fillet steak was divine and the chicken supreme was - supreme! The staff are attentive and friendly without being over bearing. We never have deserts as we prefer starters and a main BUT we saw the sticky toffee pudding arrive on an adjacent table and had to try one… BOOOOM! It was amazing and so big, three of us shared it. Can’t wait for next summer to come back again.

Ate at Y Sgwar with some friends. Found the place on Google Maps. What a fabulous place, went with the early bird menu, the food was delicious. All the staff were very welcoming and polite. We will definitely go there again if we are lucky enough to be in that area. Highly recommend a visit, you won’t be disappointed.
