New Hall Tavern – Preston
Preston in Lancashire is a cosmopolitan city located on the River Ribble and is also the home of the University of Central Lancashire (UCLAN). Many restaurants and food pubs can be found in the city centre and its suburbs.
Very welcoming, Great food, Fish Pie to die for. Bar staff very friendly and helpful. We will be going back.
New Hall Tavern – PrestonAndreas is a local character, always loud, funny, definitely a bit bonkers but well respected and puts his heart into the community - this is reflected in his food. Nice quality fish and chips, big helpings.
Andreas Fish and Chip Shop – PrestonBusy but lovely, friendly, modern, multi-cultured, inclusive; intelligent staff, great food and service. Every dish is different and their skewered prawns are simply beautiful, great deserts too! Good prices.
East Z East – PrestonThe food here is amazing. Fab service brill early bird menu tues - thurs and all you can eat Sunday and always pure quality. We discovered quite by accident and have not gone anywhere else since. Chicken Nepali is addictive - though whatever we have picked has been quality. Good ambience and good range of drinks on draught. Try it and you will be back. Dee-licious x
The Shampan – PrestonI booked a table for myself my wife and youngest son to enjoy a highly recommended restaurant in Broughton the evening of Saturday 30th of January. The table was reserved for 19:45pm but on arrival at 19:30 we were greeted by an enormous backlog of diners congregating in the entrance and around the bar, ''no problem'' said the waiter and we were swiftly seated in a tiny recess next to the toilets and front door and told to have a drink, the table would be available in 30mins.................................................2hrs 15mins later. We were seated in another side room next to a table 12 year olds on a birthday party squealing loudly in the absence of their parents who were sat in a another part of the restaurant enjoying the company of adults (out of shot of the squeelers) The time is now 22:10 and our order was finally taken, popodums and chutneys now because it was too late to really relax and take our time. The main courses Korma, Pokil? and Hasina were of good quality meat and chicken but tepid, we were past complaining again we just wanted to go. When we asked for the bill our waiter offered a drink as compensation for the wait................a little after the horse had bolted. The Manager apologised and blamed other customers for saying they had booked when clearly they hadn't by admission he said they allowed too many diners and couldn't cope. Would we return? no! but had they said when we rang and booked that they were very full we would have come another night, they have lost our future custom. We shall stick with Bangla Fusion (Much Hoole) EastEast(Preston)
Touch Of Spice – PrestonCarvery pub, similar to Toby Inn, my children love it, basics - roast and veg. Exceptionally good prices and nice staff. Always busy but never had long to wait for food.
Farmers Arms The – PrestonI would not recommend this restaurant. The service was extremely poor and we had to wait 40 minutes between our main course and desserts. Staff did not know the menu selection and could not give a full description of items on the menu. Very disappointed and would not return as I did not consider it value for money and was expensive for the quality of food which was average. Overall a bad experience.
The Sirloin Inn – PrestonWhat a find! - fantastic food, excellent service. The 2 course menu is excellent value for money, and the Specials Board is very good too. The staff were very friendly - nothing was too much trouble. We were part of a large group - service was slick yet not rushed. We would highly recommend Checcos to anyone.
Checcos – PrestonAlways a lovely welcome from Dot and staff, best food in Lancashire, Paul first class chef, lots of variety, cooked to perfection. Have missed visiting while refurbishment, looking forward to opening in February....Would recommend any one to visit for a really good meal.
Green Man – PrestonWe visited Angels on New Year's Day and had a fabulous meal. There were 14 of us as well as a young baby and the attention we received from the staff was first class. Nothing was too much trouble and the quality of food was amazing, especially considering the size of our party. I would recommend Angels to anybody. Thank you to all the staff who made our New Year very special.
Angels – Prestonrevolting food, unpleasant atmosphere, rude waiters, no care for the customers, never will come again
The Shampan – PrestonABSOLUTUELY gorgeous food, menu choices and good drinks selection. Nice to see so many drinks on draught. Recommend the Nepali - my boyf had it and we are going tonight and I will be ordering that. The sizzling tikka platter also great though Nepali had the edge. 110% yummi. Good service and nice ambience in the restaurant. A hidden jewel and better than the rest in the locality and further afield no doubt about it. Dee-licious.
The Shampan – PrestonJust enjoyed an excellent work Christmas lunch, 3 courses for £15.50. All the food was excellent , beautifully presented. Service was attentive. Our party of 18 highly recommend this venue and look forward to visiting again the future
Fusion Room – PrestonParty of 20 just before Xmas 2008. Food brilliant, not your usual fast food pub food. Worth the slightly expensive price tag to get a meal you enjoy in a good atmosphere. Staff very friendly and welcoming. We are all going back for more in Dec 2009.
Smiths Arms – PrestonI booked a table for our Writers Inc. Christmas social and we enjoyed our evening there last night. It was superb, efficient, polite and attentive waiters/waitresses without them being intrusive. Food at exactly the right temperature, cooked to perfection.Beautifully presented and reasonably/sensibly priced for a restaurant of such a classy calibre. I would definitely go there again and would highly recommend a visit to the most discernible 'foodie'. The tables were nicely set, pristine and the atmosphere was vibrant but, not noisy.
Tinos – PrestonWhat a wonderful place. I can recommend this restaurant to anyone. Excellent food, helpful, friendly staff and pleasant atmosphere.
