Preston in Lancashire is a cosmopolitan city located on the River Ribble and is also the home of the University of Central Lancashire (UCLAN). Many restaurants and food pubs can be found in the city centre and its suburbs.

Isopod

A truly wonderful local Chinese restaurant. The owners are a husband and wife from two regions of China. Spotlessly clean premises, nice surroundings and only 2 minutes from the A59 dual carriageway (exit at New Longton and follow Longton signs). The food is always well prepared, my children love the crispy chilli beef. A regular stop over when we've had a long hard day and want a tasty tea. Not expensive either. Additionally, the male owner loves eating out and will share his recommendations of other premises, particularly in Manchester,

The location was surprisingly rural and the design / layout of the building was beautiful. The food was very good with exceptional presentation. The only disappointment was that my wife and I were overcharged for an extra pint of beer which we hadn't ordered. We didn't notice until after leaving the restaurant. Upon speaking to my parents, it occurred that they too had experienced overcharging except with food....therefore be careful!

Beautiful restaurant in lovely surroundings. We ate there sat 13 Feb. I had the chicken. It was lovely but not enough sauce for both my friend and i . We think chicken can be a bit dry without the appropriate sauce and there definitely wasn't enough on. Everything else was lovely. My hubby had cheese and biscuits but they came without butter. He asked for butter and the waitress just plonked 2 pats of butter down for him, now i think that should have come in a little ramekin dish as the hotel is so posh and eating out these days is expensive. One of the young girl waitresses was very serious and could have had a bit more of a smile on her face. The welcome bucks fizz was lovely a very nice touch. Would definitely come back again. We travelled about 30 minutes to get here so it was worth it.

Better than all the rest, ouside of Italy I've never had such freshly made, tasty, smooth, and interesting ice cream - and the tastes vary depending upon which ideas the owners ( a mother and daughter team) come up with. Espresso, honey, honeycomb, liquorice, jelly bean, fresh strawberry, and so on...always a massive choice available, definitely the best place to stop for a bit of gelato on the A59. Just South of Preston. Oh, and they can keep a tab on your kids' birthdays for a free ice cream sundae!

I have visited Angelo's several times since their refurb in November. My first visit was with my Mum ad friend where we sampled the new menu options..I had the Ceaser Salad which was delicious! I returned for my works do mid Dec and the service and food for 35 of us was excellent! I there fore returned for my birthday two weeks ago where 10 of us sat on a lovely round table and had a fantastic night. The decor is classy yet comfortable and the staff attentive and polite. I recently found out Angelo's is part of the same group as San Marco (Much Hoole).......enough said! Keep up the good work!

Had a wonderful meal at the Horns Inn. The place was very busy which was a good sign. I had the duck, proceeded by pate both of which were very tasty. A great spot for Sunday lunch

We had our evening reception here 27th June 09. We cannot fault anything. The room looked amazing. The food was out of this world, All the staff were very helpful and polite. Its not very often people excel your expectation but they did. Thank you for making our evening so very enjoyable and thank you to Lynn and her son for making the evening run smoothly. Jo and Graeme

Andreas is a local character, always loud, funny, definitely a bit bonkers but well respected and puts his heart into the community - this is reflected in his food. Nice quality fish and chips, big helpings.

Busy but lovely, friendly, modern, multi-cultured, inclusive; intelligent staff, great food and service. Every dish is different and their skewered prawns are simply beautiful, great deserts too! Good prices.

The food here is amazing. Fab service brill early bird menu tues - thurs and all you can eat Sunday and always pure quality. We discovered quite by accident and have not gone anywhere else since. Chicken Nepali is addictive - though whatever we have picked has been quality. Good ambience and good range of drinks on draught. Try it and you will be back. Dee-licious x

I booked a table for myself my wife and youngest son to enjoy a highly recommended restaurant in Broughton the evening of Saturday 30th of January. The table was reserved for 19:45pm but on arrival at 19:30 we were greeted by an enormous backlog of diners congregating in the entrance and around the bar, ''no problem'' said the waiter and we were swiftly seated in a tiny recess next to the toilets and front door and told to have a drink, the table would be available in 30mins.................................................2hrs 15mins later. We were seated in another side room next to a table 12 year olds on a birthday party squealing loudly in the absence of their parents who were sat in a another part of the restaurant enjoying the company of adults (out of shot of the squeelers) The time is now 22:10 and our order was finally taken, popodums and chutneys now because it was too late to really relax and take our time. The main courses Korma, Pokil? and Hasina were of good quality meat and chicken but tepid, we were past complaining again we just wanted to go. When we asked for the bill our waiter offered a drink as compensation for the wait................a little after the horse had bolted. The Manager apologised and blamed other customers for saying they had booked when clearly they hadn't by admission he said they allowed too many diners and couldn't cope. Would we return? no! but had they said when we rang and booked that they were very full we would have come another night, they have lost our future custom. We shall stick with Bangla Fusion (Much Hoole) EastEast(Preston)
