Enjoyed a very good lunch in the newly refurbed Angelos before embarking on Christmas shopping. I had Saffron Salmon Ravioli and my missus the spicy pasta. Interesting new menu with non Italian options too. The refurb is modern and slick without being too contemporary. impressed!

Incredible tea shop with the best range of teas I have ever seen or tasted!, try the Yerba Mate for an Argentinian pick me up or the Milk oolong for something truly unique. Great service and great place to relax !

i've lived in Preston for 45 years, and can see it for what it is, - not a city but a dirty, dying town. what it has done to deserve a gem like this is beyond me. the young polish staff are a credit to their parents, it's just a pity that the staff who normally work in the service industry aren't as pleasant, helpful, knowledgeable.... give it a go and you'll run out of superlatives. didn't try the food, but if you can convince yourself to try something other than a cup of nescafe or builders tea, you will be hooked. the decor and cleanliness of the cafe is second to none wishing them all the best for the future, they deserve to succeed john

Quite simply, this place is a hidden gem. The staff are wonderful and helpful, and the tea selection is out of this world. After coming out of there, you feel so relaxed and calm. Amazing, simply amazing.

After goodness knows how many fantastic meals at both POND & DUK thought it about time I write a review! My friend and I had a delicious lunch yesterday and her very specific dietary requirements were met without a hint of inconvenience. As always the food was divine, service exceptional, wonderful ambience and very reasonable bill. Everything is always perfect, just too hard to chose from the huge and varied menu. What I really love about it is that day or night, summer winter, shopping, business or pleasure it's just right - not many places master this but POND never disappoints whatever the occasion! Just booked for our xmas do and can't wait!!!

Four of us dined at the Fusion Room last night (Saturday 14 November 2009) and found the whole experience very enjoyable. The set price menu of £16.50 for two courses plus wine from £9.75 a bottle represented very good value. The quality and presentation of the food was excellent (my lamb shank was tender and tasty and my wife's plaice on pasta was delicious), the atmosphere was lively and the service was friendly & efficient. Definitely one to revisit .

The Sagar Premier has in my opinion always been the best Indian restaurant for miles around, but as it has just been completely refurbished (Nov 09) it's now in a league of it's own. New decor, bar, seating, linen, lighting etc make the ambience quite special. The food is great and the service friendly and efficient too! It's the eatery of choice for my whole family !!

We went to this restaurant on on Friday evening a couple of weeks ago and the meal was fantastic to say the least i had the fillet steak and pepper sauce the veg and potatoes were amazing i must beg you to go and try it at least once before you die it was that good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I highly recommend the barton bangla. The service is exceptional and the food is with you in a matter of minutes! your starter is even waiting for you at the table after you have ordered your food in the waiting room! the food is fantastic 5* and the portions are great. best indian i have ever eaten at!

I have been to eat at the continental numerous times, and on every occasion the food has been fantastic. The service is always excellent and friendly, and if there is a bit of a wait it is probably because diners have not booked in advance. Last time I dined there I had pork belly with black pudding, which I worried would be very fatty, but it was the best I`d ever had. I love this place! I`d rather nobody else came though, because there have been a few times I haven`t managed to get a table. On second thoughts this is an awful place, stay away you people.

Visited pond on sunday had a great time, restaurant was fairly busy and service was very good, our fussy needs were easily met, the food delicious and fresh would definitely recommend, we joined a drink in the lounge area which was most welcome after a huge meal ! and i have suggested we all go for our Christmas do. So we are very excited to come back again. We are already regulars at duk and its lovely to see both doing well.

Went last night with my husband to celebrate my 40th birthday. Had heard brilliant things about this restaurant and Duk, it's sister restaurant, but been unable to get a table in the past. To be honest, though, was really unimpressed. One of the waitresses was very rude to the couple sat next to us while we were waiting to be seated at our table, which put me off immediately. There is a huge amount of choice in the menu, but we chose 12 dishes and didn't think very much of any of them - they weren't very hot when they came out, and most of the lettuce served with the salad garnishes was really past it's best and a bit slimy! I wouldn't have served it in that state to guests in my house! It was as though everything we were being served leftovers from the weekend, and maybe we would have had a better experience later on in the week. It was just ok - I wouldn't return, nor would I bother with Duk. A disappointing celebration.

HIGHLY recommend Angels - we went for the first time last night and had a fabulous meal. The food is worthy a Michelin star as far as I'm concerned. And at £22 for a 3-course meal, including teas/coffees, it's very well priced too. Not keen on the decor in the bar area though... it's got all a bit too much crushed velvet, feathers and general bling going on for my liking, but don't let that put you off! The interiors in the dining room are a bit more subdued thankfully. We'll definitely go again and will recommend to anyone we know.

We visited on a friday night and there were five of us, we went for a set meal option as we couldn't decide what to have, £20 a head including fish (king Prawn dish) and it was fantastic,lots of choice and lots of it. Would highly recommend the food was fresh and delicious. service was good was quite busy.

I'm not sure why so many people recommend this place, both myself and my partner thought it was rubbish. The staff couldn't care less when we walked in, with no "please", "thank you's", or smiles. The food was bland with not one bit of spice or flavour. Interior decor is old and tatty, could definately do with some modernisation!

my wife and i went to the italian orchard for the first time last night and it will definitely not be the last. the service was second to none and the ambience and feel for the restaurant was relaxing and pleasant,but it was the food that made the night so special from the starters to the desserts it could not have been any finely cooked and presented anywhere we have been in the past and the most surprising part of the night was the bill for what we ate and the service we got we expected the bill to be so much higher we will definitely be recommending it to our friends
