We went for a meal at the restaurant last night and was blown away by the service and food!! There was a problem with the card machines last night and we was stuck paying for our meal, we was given complimentary drinks as we waited to solve our problems and then was kindly waited on by the owner and was then informed that we could have our meal and pay the next day! Luckily our problem was solved as we was able to pay, nonetheless we was truly grateful of the restaurants kindness. We will definitely be going again, our food was amazing, the restaurant is beautiful and the service was class! Very pleased! Thankyou very much :)

We visited Raffles this afternoon in Preston 24/11/13 we ordered our food which came to the neck end of £28 for 3 sandwiches and 2 drinks slightly expensive I think but that is not my complaint with this place, my girlfriend had a Tuna and mayo wrap which came in 2 halves , she couldn't finish both halves so decided to take the other half home with her, we asked the waitress if we could she said no problem and promptly returned with paper bag to put an open fairly sloppy wrap in I then asked if this could be wrapped in tin foil and then put in a paper bag the wrap was taken away sent down to the kitchen to be dealt with however it returned unwrapped and back in a paper bag I mentioned to the ladie on the counter about the tin foil to which she replied they didn't keep it on the premises I took the Wrap out of the bag which then fell apart mostly over me at that point I knew I wasting my time I then told them to throw it away i had just gone past trying to get this thing hygienically wrapped up. I know it sounds trivial but principal had taken over by now I left the place seething and put a complaint in to the service area in st George's I don't hold my hopes up for a reply but you never know it's nearly Christmas !!!

Had lunch at this restaurant saturday just gone. It was faultless! Fantastic atmosphere topped off by the live pianist. Food was excellent as always. I just wish we didn't have to drive to this restaurant, I could have stayed all afternoon with a good bottle of red! Highly recommended.

The Sherwood in Preston Is the worst pub we have ever been in.The rudeness started within a few mins of walking in the door, we committed the (apparently) cardinal sin of sitting in the "adult only" area they claim they have to keep by law???The manager very rudly asked us to move and when we asked if there were other tables with a bench was very sarcastic. We should have left but not knowing the area and hunger got the better of us. We found other seating and ordered, again the manager was rude and obnoxious and was clearly put out when I asked if the mash had dairy due to my kids dairy allergy. (To the point of ignoring the next few items of the order because he was huffing and rolling his eyes, so I had to repeat it)The other staff were slightly better, but not much. One ignored me while I was attempting to order desert and carried on her conversation. The food was ok but we will never go back there and have told friends who were considering it not to bother, I was looking on review sites to find a good indian locally and wish I had checked before visiting the Sherwood because 70 of them are from people who had similar experiences to ours. I have added mine to the chorus!

Went to Bukhara for a friends birthday meal and I was left traumatised. I found a huge dead wasp in a dish. I was in shock and hurry and more than anything disgusted. Went I talked the manger he simply replied saying "listen yeah it fell in the dish from my journey to the kitchen to your table" um no it was at the bottom of the dish don't try to justify it with that excuse. Did not even have the decency to say sorry. Absoloutely disgusted. Never again.

This place has always been superb, we always have our "special" birthdays there and having just booked a table for 11 for next Saturday....can't wait! If you moan about this place, you must have been born moaning!!!

This pub changed management a year or two ago. They're somehow connected to the Ram's Head in Longton and the Dolphin (Flying Fish) also in Longton. My Wife and I turned up there early one Saturday evening in June and although we hadn't booked, we were show to a table near the bar which was fine. We're difficult customers in most places being vegetarians and although the menu didn't have a huge choice for us, there were some suitable choices. Strangely, the Salad menu had no vegetarian options. My wife asked whether the Ploughman's were pre-prepared with meat on. The manager said not but that it had so many meat items with it that the meal would be a pale version if these were omitted. He made a recommendation which was excellent. All the staff were very attentive and the manager said that menu options may be reviewed in the future. We've eaten here twice under this management and have booked a table for ourselves and a friend for this evening.I should mention that portions are large, quality is good yet cost is reasonable.(that's three ticks in my book)

I went last week and believe me it will me the LAST time i go, after being spoken to like a idiot by a man who i understood was called Leeroy. He took our order by shouting from across the "restaurant". he then cooked it himself while filling the place up with smoke and filling the street outside with smoke, somehow! food had clearly been frozen (maybe multipul times). I was vomitting 8 hours after into the night. Disgusting food, awful service and in general foul!

dont eat here!! the environmental health have been here because of the rodent problem but it is not the cleanliness that's the problem but the lack of ethical practice. the chicken if you ate it was probably left out overnight to defrost where the mice can get to it then their faeces picked off and served up to customers !! how do iknow well lets just say i have seen the evidence. i want to make this clear this is not the fault of the normal staff they are all conscientious good people and even the owners do not know how long this has been going on but it is and it still does probably because the staff who know are told to keep thier mouths shut. its a shame as someone will get seriously ill one day and the decent staff will lose out so will the owners all because of one person who is more worried about being found out than the health of the public

The Italian Orchard is one of my wife's absolute favourite restaurants and so we try and get here as often as possible. We jumped at the chance to bring our ten year old daughter for her birthday yesterday! The weather was aweful but once we arrived nobody even noticed. The food was excellent, the ambiance was as always relaxed and unobtrusive and the service was very good. I don't know of anywhere else you might go on a Tuesday lunchtime and get a live pianist!! Very highly recommended!!

This country pub near Beacon Fell is full of character and I love the fact that you can sit either n front of or behind the bar (hard to explain unless you visit for yourself). A nice meal as always and left with a Lancashire cheese bomb and a brace of pheasants under my arm.
