Preston in Lancashire is a cosmopolitan city located on the River Ribble and is also the home of the University of Central Lancashire (UCLAN). Many restaurants and food pubs can be found in the city centre and its suburbs.

Go back 30 years. Remember what a true English pub was like. The Legh Arms is just that establishment . I regularly frequent this pub both on my own and With Family. Excellent ambience, clean and comfortable. What more can you ask. A treasure in Lancashire.

Went to the Sirloin Restaurant on Friday 8 June 2012. Heard the restaurant had been re opened so decided to give it a try. The decor has changed which was nice, but did prefer the more modern look previously. The food was lovely and well presented and the my husband really enjoyed his steak! Would definately go back and hopefully some special offers will come on for midweek dining...might try the sunday lunch with family soon!

We recently had my wife's birthday party at Bangla Fusion and right from the offset the team were very accommodating and took on board all our requests. We had about 50 guests so it was a tough task for them to ensure all the food came out in a timely manor. I am happy to say that it did and as usual the food was excellent. We have eaten in many Indian Restaurants and Bangla Fusion is definitely near the top in our ratings. The team are very friendly and always make you feel right at home. The waiters are very sociable and are always good fun to talk to. All in all I cannot thank them enough for making the evening so special and additionally I really would recommend that you give them a try!

Tried the sirloin inn for Sunday lunch following there recent refurbishment for the first time. First impressions were pleasing, very polite staff, nice and clean, and a good selection of cask ales. I chose the steak pie with mash and seasonal veg while my partner chose the Sunday roast which was beef. After a 30 minute wait we were presented with what was probably the smallest portions of food we have had whilst dining out.admittedly the food was very good but what's with the micro portions at maximum prices! Also I feel the service requires work as it was slow to say the least with just a few people dining. All in all a enjoyable afternoon out, I would return but feel everything needs to bed in first.

Took longer than 45 minutes to turn up. We ordered Duck Chow Mein, Singapore Vermicelli, King Do Ribs, and chips. To be fair the King Do ribs were pretty good. However this was but one item - The Duck Chow Mein contained very little else other than noodles, soy sauce and duck. I could be wrong but generally there should be some vegetables in the chow mein. The duck was very very dried out. The Singapore Noodles (in keeping with the chow mein above) contained an awful lot of noodles, a sprinkle of prawns and some vegetables. The chips were greasy, soggy, cold and barely edible. This is the first and last time we will be ordering food from the Bamboo Chinese Take Away. For the £17 paid for this lot we would both expect much better food.

Excellent Indian restaurant. The host asks what type of curry you like and then comes up with a dish to suit. Ours were the perfect selection for us. The service was efficient and friendly, with the staff taking time out out to interact with our baby. We sat in the conservatory which was airy and bright. The best Indian in the area.

I have been to this pub once previously and had a nice meal. That was years ago. I think the pub has changed hands since then. We were taking part in an annual beer festival for charity through a friend who pointed out the landlady who was going bezerk at people who were standing outside with dogs, and other people who were getting in her was as she charged around glass collecting. But the beer was good. Didn't stay long enough to sample the food with that landlady though! I also witness the bar man shouting at a few people and didn't really remove his angry expression the whole time he'd been there. The other pubs on the charity drinking route had a slightly less frosty reception :-)

Took the kids to the St Georges day crawl and was shocked to witness the landlady losing complete control and swearing at customers for feeding their dogs outside (lots of paying guests with dogs annually on this route so really surprising to see someone object?!) and using their phone to call cabs etc, everything but ordering full plates of food infuriated her?! Shrink required!!!!

what a shock. came in on st georges night pub crawl, after the landlord didn't hear my order he said "what?" so I repeated and he shouted "Don't speak to me like that!" and the landlady joined in to say " Nobody treats us like dogs!". Errr... shocked! Bad service..............

I seem to have been eating out a lot lately and the Grapes stills delivers on quality. I particularly like the fact that you can eat away from the main restaurant and be closer to the bar and eat a heck of a lot cheaper. Liver and bacon!!!

GF loves the mushroom rice, to the extent that even if we pop in for a quick 'go on..just one chicken nan wrap on the way home to share' we still end up with a mushroom rice. Nice staff. Nice range of curries too. Nice helpings and reasonable takeaway prices.

Came here for the first time on Mother's Day, after having eaten at their sister restaurant Duk on birthday & my mother having remarked at the time how wonderful the food was. The decor here was fabulous & the food was as delicious as expected, if not more so!

A little Portugeuse/ Caribbean restaurant/take away near the university. My friend and I happened upon it by accident, and are so glad we did. The food is amazing, great sized portions, seemed to be all fresh and made right in front of you...I think by the family who own it.We had the saltfish fritters and a huge beef burrito with all the trimmings.I think the fritters were £2,50 and the burrito was £3.00. It`s one of those fantastic finds that you can sometimes make on holiday, and you go to every night after that. It`s only open til half seven unfortunately, so more of a lunchtime place, but totally worth a trip to that side of Preston.
