The Whitchaff Inn – RawtenstallWhat a lovely place to have a birthday lunch! The atmosphere is warm and friendly, with all members of staff making you feel welcome….the food is delicious with an exceptional variety of tempting tapas..very reasonable portions too. Combined with a very good quality wine choice we had a great birthday meal and are not waiting for birthdays before we go back!
A’Vucciria – RawtenstallBeautiful food as always, we got some of the specials which did not disappoint. Great service and a very friendly atmosphere.

The Whitchaff Inn – RawtenstallAlways a great meal, and good atmosphere
A’Vucciria – RawtenstallFirst visit since the redesign, loved the layout, nice and spacious. Prompt, friendly service and most accommodating with the change requests to some menu options. Tasty and well cooked main meals, just large portions and gravy had a layer of oil which made it difficult to pour to get the actual gravy. Excellent jam roly poly, light and delicious sticky toffee pudding, just too sweet with the toffee sauce and the toffee apple crumble became apple crumble when asked for custard and not the toffee sauce. Drinks on the expensive side.

The Whitchaff Inn – RawtenstallThe restaurant was almost full on a Wednesday evening testament to the great service and food always received at the Whitechaff, a lovely place with a great atmosphere.
The Whitchaff Inn – RawtenstallFantastic as always! Great menu great food great staff!
A’Vucciria – RawtenstallI booked a table for four people on Sunday 1st March. We turned up to be told that they had run out of Sunday Roasts and this was at 4pm. I have never eaten anywhere else where this has been the case. What a real shame. However, the food we ordered was nice but I was so looking forward to a roast.
The Whitchaff Inn – RawtenstallGenuinely one of the strangest restaurant experiences I’ve ever had. We were ignored for the first five minutes while multiple staff members wandered around the floor, and it honestly felt like everyone was on their very first shift — like opening day chaos or some kind of undercover boss prank. The staff behaviour was incredibly odd and quickly became really irritating. People kept hovering silently around tables without actually speaking, appearing out of nowhere and then disappearing again. There was zero communication between them — we were asked about desserts three different times by three different people after already saying not yet. It felt like nobody knew what anyone else was doing, and the constant interruptions became genuinely annoying. The whole atmosphere was uncomfortable rather than welcoming, and by the end of it we felt more irritated than relaxed. We were sat in the middle of the restaurant with the sun blinding us, and when we asked to move, we were offered an even worse table, which just added to the frustration. Service felt confused, disorganised and honestly quite unsettling. The food unfortunately matched the experience — bland, disappointing, and not worth putting up with the annoyance. Overall: very strange staff, uncomfortable atmosphere, and poor food. Definitely won’t be back.
The Whitchaff Inn – RawtenstallHi, We came to the restaurant for the third time, but appears to have gone slightly down hill? Service was really slow, including delivering drinks. We waited about an hour from ordering starters to receiving the main meal. The main lady grafting and always cheerful, seemed she running around alot and the young lad didn't connect and didn't raise a smile. The food was very Luke warm and the sirloin steak that came with the mushrooms and beans tasted a bit of a strange combination? Too sweet. Steak was also rare and not medium rare. Plates were cold which didn't help. Sorry, a bit put off. Not sure if there has been a change of chef and not enough staff maybe. We shall try again, but will leave for a bit.
The Whitchaff Inn – RawtenstallLovely food and the staff were attentive, the room was a little chilly for me and would prefer it to be warmer.
The Whitchaff Inn – RawtenstallFamily get together, food, service and atmosphere all good. Will definitely return
The Whitchaff Inn – RawtenstallFabulous lunch for four on Saturday. The staff were friendly and helpful. Two Sunday roasts, fish and chips and Chilli chicken Sizzler. All well presented and delicious. Lovely warm open area. Will return.
