Really lovely food - the service was a bit slow as we had to keep asking for a drink otherwise a pleasant experience.

Went for a family Sunday roast. Food and service were excellent. Every detail looked after. Never a disappointment. Definitely recommend.

As always, the food was perfect - enough choice to suit everyone, lots of interesting flavours, and beautifully presented. Family visiting the valley loved it.

We regularly eat at the Whitchaff on Friday lunchtimes. Always good service and food. Staff are well trained and friendly. We only eat lightly and always opt for the Fish Tacos starter which are fabulous!

Our favourite local place to eat, been ,quite a few times, the food is delicious, friendly staff, the steak and Stilton pie is the best I have ever had, would definitely recommend

5 of us went for lunch, lovely atmosphere, staff were friendly and welcoming. Food was lovely, and there was lots of choice, a couple of us took advantage of the lunchtime special menu which was really good value for money. We have been quite a few times for meals and we are always impressed , would definitely recommend

Six of us went here for dinner, as we frequently do! Food was as nice as always, staff very friendly and helpful and a good choice of dishes on the menu. There was traditional pub food on offer and some very different choices available. Good portion size for five of the six mains, whereas one diner was still somewhat hungry, hence one point deducted for value for money. The 3 chaps had desserts and said they were very delicious.

We traveled a good distance to try the food here on the say so of a friend. Very disappointed. Staff were friendly but the food wasn’t great. My wife had the lasagna that was hot around the edges but just warm in the middle. I had the gammon and chips. Gammon was ok but the chips weren’t nice. We probably should have complained but we decided that we wouldn’t be going again so didn’t. Our friends have had good food there so I wouldn’t let it put you of trying.

Met a friend for lunch, which was delicious, accompanied by nice glass of wine. We found tHe staff , without exception very helpful and friendly. A very pleasing lunch altogether.

This is our go to place for meals for myself and family However the recent visit was not as it has been in the past The staff were abrupt when taking our orders and returning with drinks and food It wasn’t overly busy either which I may have turned a blind eye if they had been rushed of their feet Food was lovely as always Not so much the staff this time

The Steak and Stilton pie is awesome, all the food was great, but that pie gets me every time. If you did take out, I would be ordering that way more often

Extensive menu with lots of gluten free options. Service and staff genuinely warm and helpful. Will visit again when back this way.
