Excellent food, wine and service as always

Service was fabulous with good quality food. The only downside was …it was cold in the restaurant . We couldn’t take our coats off (lunchtime)

Had drinks here lots of times, but not the food. Gave it a try & have been twice in the last month. Food is so nice & you get chance to try lots of small plates. The service is brilliant, staff are so attentive. A very welcoming & friendly place. Big choice of wines too.

Fabulous food, service and atmosphere!

Amazing food and portion size 7 dishes between 3 of us was perfect ! Lovely service from the all the staff especially the two you g ladies upstairs on fri 13th feb :)

Food as always was amazing & the staff friendly. Service after the drinks & mains order was slower than normal and it was cold in the restaurant. Though we were an early lunch just after opening time.

Meal was lovely,staff cant fault,cud b a little warmer +lovely decor.

Splendid kitchen, you can have pub favourites, but there's International alternatives well presented. Excellent service too.

A family meal for 8 of us. We enjoyed the great, reliable quality of service and food - the Whitchaff is our favourite. You still don’t serve Diet Coke . . Pepsi Max is NOT the same and should not be offered as an alternative. In matters of taste, the customer is always right!

Always a good venue for wholesome foods. Extensive menus giving lots of choice. Recommend to book as limited walk in availability. Staff are good and friendly. Sometimes it takes a little time for food to arrive but at least you know food it freshly prepared. Like many resturants can be a little cool so take a jumper. Overall a truly great venue.

Friday tea out with friends in a group of 6. We've been to the Whitchaff too many times to count and rarely had any cause for complaint. Friendly staff, efficient service and delicious food, as usual.

Excellent Sunday lunch - good service and value . My sister who is coeliac was thrilled with the separate gluten free menu and choice offered ….which is rare to find - will definitely book again !

I understand that businesses are struggling at the moment so I want to try and be fair. At first I said I would definitely not visit again but perhaps this was just a really bad day for the venue. I had booked a table for my birthday a month in advance. I want to note that we had been to an escape room previously so were dressed appropriately. I wonder if this is why we were shunned at the door. Upon arrival our table was not ready, despite there being many tables with menus on them. The bar was full and crowded and a lot of punter sat around a bar table which was to be our table. They were asked to move and didn't but we were not offered another table, perhaps a lovely booth in a quieter area (maybe we weren't dressed right) or an upstairs table. So we were crammed onto a bar table with the bar punters practically sat on us and no where for servers to pass either so every time someone moved, we all got knocked. I voiced my disappointment and a manager offered us an alternative table, still in the bar area, under the coat rack. Still not great but at least we weren't being sat on. At this point, I will mention that the manager was lovely and tried very hard with us. When taking or order we all told the server that one of our party was gluten free and we were told it was noted. Every time a dish was delivered, we checked that it was gluten free and were told that it was. So we thought no more of it. However, she now finds herself extremely ill from gluten poisoning (the rest of the party are okay so it could only have been that and no other food poisoning). When we asked for the bill we were kindly presented with an additional bottle of wine on there that we had not drank. My family attend a lot so I really wanted to love this place.

Food was lovely for six of us, all turn up together and was piping hot. Service was a bit slow but it was busy so that comes with the territory. Been plenty of times and never had a bad experience.

Visited last sunday, was seated promptly but after that general service was slow. We arrived at 1:45 and after a main and dessert we finally left at 4pm. After mains order was taken, we had to try and flag members of staff down to order another drink, dessert, bill & card reader. Plenty of staff on and I wouldnt say that busy so unsure why service was so slow. Food was nice, portions were quite small for the money but still nice. Will visit again to give it another try

Always consistent, even on a busy Sunday afternoon.

Lunch for 3. Food & service was perfect. We love this place. Great atmosphere & setting.
