Love this place been going since I was a child and always been excellent food super fresh always hot and tasty and service and atmosphere always super chill and lovely just love it .

Booked to eat here on my last night in the valley, along with family and friends. Was not disappointed with the food at all. Good choice (but wish I’d had the pie as lady on table next to us had it and said it was good!) reasonable prices compared to other places I’ve visited on my travels, lovely decor and I’ll be back to try something different next time in in the Valley.

We booked a table for four, meeting friends from Cheshire, on Sunday afternoon. Our friends had never visited the restaurant before and were very impressed with the lovely building and the food - very authentic. Friendly staff and chilled afternoon, catching up. A'Vucciria continues to be one of our favourite places in Rossendale. Many thanks.

We do go to The Whitchaff a lot but the latest visit was not up to scratch When we arrived on time booked, ta table wasn’t ready-no apologies. We were asked to sit at the bar, having a baby with us, this wasn’t the most comfortable of situations We finally got to our table 30 minutes late. When we sat down, we had to wait a further 10 minutes for someone to take our order. We weren’t asked if we had any allergies? The food once served was fine but we were not asked if it was ok No apologies when we paid our bill. We left with a bitter taste for once,

Seems to have gone downhill, this WAS one of our regulars. The service was awful despite the pub being half empty, starters were fine, but mains include fish pie that was just mush with hardly any fish fajitas with dripping greasy peppers and a cheese and onion pie that had gone flat in the microwave. No meal check or would have complained, everything seemed like too much trouble for the waiting staff!

Attended on Thursday evening for a meal with friends. The food was absolutely delicious and there were lots of choices. We will definitely be coming back again.

Absolutely brilliant Value for money Really enjoy

We began with the garlic bread, which arrived perfectly crisp on the outside and soft on the inside, with just the right amount of buttery garlic flavor. The seafood spaghetti was a standout — generously portioned and packed with fresh, tender seafood in a light, savory sauce. The carbonara was rich and creamy, with pancetta that added just the right hint of smokiness without overwhelming the dish. Desserts did not disappoint. The cheesecake was silky and balanced, with a subtle tang that kept it from being overly sweet. The profiteroles were light, airy, and generously filled — a perfect end to the meal. Service was exceptional — friendly, attentive, and well-paced, adding to the overall warmth of the experience. The ambiance was relaxed yet elegant, making it a great spot for both casual dinners and special occasions. Highly recommended, and definitely a place I’d return to.

Been to the Whitchaff a few times now and never been disappointed. The food is excellent with good portions and very tasty. Food always arrives quickly and hot. Staff are very attentive and friendly.

Recently spent a perfectly chilled Sunday afternoon here. Can't fault it food,service and value for money all great. Would certainly recommend and will be back soon.

I went for a meal with my boyfriend and our friend, the service was quick, the food was delicious and the portions sizes were great! The value for money was good too as the portion sizes were big - the staff were very accommodating and lovely - will definitely be coming back again. I would 100% recommend the cheese and onion pie! :)
