Fantastic food, lovely friendly staff as alway.

Went for lunch on a Tuesday, six of us and found every main meal we had excellent and reasonably priced with good service.

Been a few times now, food is excellent and good value for money. Staff friendly and attentive. Our favourite place to eat in the area, much better quality food compared to some larger chains which overcharge and provide mediocre food.

Our party of 9 had a lovely meal in the restaurant - the food was excellent, as always. We lingered and chatted well past 9 o’clock and they didn’t try to send us packing. Small issue - you sell Coke, but not Diet Coke - Diet Pepsi is NOT a suitable substitute. Please note!

Had a great meal with some friends at the Whitchaff Good food & service in a great location I would highly recommend this place to anyone

Great night!! Impeccable service on a very busy evening very warm welcome and stunning food! Love the variety with the specials and of course the old favourites ( I’m talking ribs and Panelli xxx) Highly recommend!

Food is always good and excellent value for money. We went on a Saturday evening, by 9.30 the place was empty and we were made to feel we'd overstated our welcome. I wouldn't consider 9.30 on a Saturday evening late by any means and if we'd been made aware that you'd like everyone out by that time we'd have maybe booked elsewhere. The wait staff were all very young and although polite I got the impression they'd somewhere else to be. Definitely felt like we were an inconvenience. Shame because we'd taken friends and it felt a bit awkward.

Visited Saturday night with friends. Very friendly staff, nice open layout so you don’t feel crowded even though it was full. Good quality “pub grub”. Nice relaxed evening

Booked a table on advice,was pleasantly surprised how it was played out,very clean and bright,the staff were very helpfull all of them ,I had chicken sizzler and wasn't disappointed and the blackpudding ,cheese hashbrown were amazing,will definitely be re-booking .

We have been here many times without and issues. This visit was no exception, attentive but not obtrusive service, what was welcome was the ability to have a good selection of gluten free food, even down to one of us ordering a burger and the brioche was changed to a gluten free bun. That was service We will return Thanks to all your staff both front of house and kitchen.

Came may bank holiday Booked for 12.00 Absolutely fantastic food. We had sublime fish and chips, fish pie and the stunning steak and cheese pie I’m not exaggerating when I say it is tremendous. This is a fantastic pub restaurant without bonkers prices We are now regulars here to eat 8 times in last few months Atmosphere very nice It was bank holiday place was full inside and out Service excellent. Fern in particular first class. We are totally bemused by the 3.5 scores below. Great value

I am never disappointed here. So much choice and everything is always amazing. Would’ve taken photographs but was just too damn busy eating and enjoying

Food was nice but a little bland. I ordered the special chicken sizzler and my daughter ordered the special steak and stilton pie. The chicken sizzler had a lot of oil and splattered and spit on the table, a little dangerous. It came with what seemed to be a pot of jarred mango chutney, 2 very small soft tortillas, raita and a pot of rice with fried crispy onions on top. Not much flavour on the chicken. Asked for chilli sauce and was given sweet chilli, also seemed from a bottle. The pie was very big with a massive amount of mash, pretty dry and looked thrown on the plate from a bowl. Hopefully not reheated. Stilton sauce was nice. Both meals were over £15 each. Churros were good. No affogato so I asked for an espresso and a ball of vanilla ice cream. I was given a very small bowl but I made it work. Had to ask for extra napkins and the table wasn't cleared often. Nice atmosphere and cosy vibe. Although I did ask Not to be seated near any smoking areas and we were in front of the front door where a few people stood smoking. Why people smoke in door ways in beyond me. Very selfish. Would go again but maybe just for an English dish something I wouldn't expect to need a lot of flavour, like fish and chips.

Great service even though the place was busy at the bar. Very friendly staff. The pastilla off the specials board was an unusual taste( in a very good way!) all dishes were of a high standard

First time back since the refurb. Good food good atmosphere and friendly staff.

Lovely evening meal . First time to share the sharing meal and went down well . Staff lovely and friendly . Rest of food up to scratch :)

Oh my goodness, amazing. We had the butchers sharing board it was amazing. Not the first time we have been as we love this place
