Rawtensall is lucky to have this place which is in an old bank building. Went Friday and the place was buzzing so clearly popular. Food was great with the service even better. We all felt really looked after. Highly recommended.
A’Vucciria – RawtenstallFour of us came for lunch on 22/1/2926. We have been quite a few times before and had no complaints. However in this occasion we found the service a bit poor. Had to go and ask for a sweet menu and some drinks. I asked if they were short staffed but told no they were just very busy with no apology. I had two courses from the set menu. The sweet was a very small sliver of bakewell tart and the custard was cold. Not good value at all

I do prefer the original Arancini Balls, but the new ones are still superb. Prawns are mega; and the rib sauce was unbelievable.

The food was just fabulous, we tried the fish platter for a change and it was really fresh and tasty and good portion size. Also had oysters, a firm favourite, potato croquettes and salad. It was all delicious. Washed down with a bottle of our favourite Rioja. Oh and Tiramisu which is simply to die for! As always the team were friendly and attentive and the service was faultless. Usual good vibes and cheeriness in the premises and another great and memorable visit for us.

The Whitchaff Inn – RawtenstallGreat choice on the menu and food is excellent. Service was great and prompt and we didn’t feel rushed. The only thing that lets this pub down is its low/no alcohol offerings. Doesn’t even show on drinks menu. Other pubs now have at least a draft no alcohol lager, ipa and Guinness. As the driver, I asked what there was and was told bottles of Heineken 0. Didn’t even mention Guinness 0 ( which was stocked). Times are a changing so need to catch up!!
