The food was very good and beautifully presented, the dining room is quite relaxing, clean, beautifully laid out. The staff were friendly and very attentive, overall had a wonderful meal and very reasonably priced as well. Will be back the next time visiting Scotland.

I'd highly recommend The Hamnavoe, the menu is short, but perfectly formed, and a lot of the dishes have an Asian/Korean twist, so give traditional-sounding dishes a bit of a lift - eg hand-dived scallops with dashi butter sauce - these were unbelievably good. My gooseberry frangipane dessert was fresh and light, and very delicious. Wine list also short, but plenty of choice, with local beers, and a few options by the glass too. Service was just right, friendly and efficient. I'm sure we'll be back soon, and hoping they can stay open during the winter, even if just for a couple of nights a week. Stromness has been crying out for a place like this.

We have eaten here several times now, food and service are excellent. Highly recommended.

I recently took my partner and family visiting from Ireland for a meal. Overall, the meal was great, very good quality, friendly staff and a nice atmosphere. All of us had a great night. Will definitely book the Golden Lion for evening meals again!

Was Booked here on Saturday for a party of 4, can't fault it anyway food was excellent service was nice and quick and we were looked after will definitely be back highly recommended.

Lovely place, lovely food. Very close to King's Theatre. Staff are so attentive and friendly! Well worth a visit.

Great meal with family. Booked a booth for the four of us. Staff super friendly and very helpful when dealing with our Gluten Free requests. Large portions of food which was all freshly cooked. Enjoyed the local beers too.

I have been here a few times before going to Kings Theatre. It’s a two minute walk away so excellent location. The atmosphere here is lovely, subtle lighting light music and a warm welcome. The menu is varied and nice wine list. I had sea bass last night for a change and it was delicious. Served with fresh vegetables and roast potatoes. The staff are attentive and friendly. I highly recommend, wise to book.

Steak was amazing, they cooked a perfect blue rib eye. There was a good lively atmosphere. Main standout was the service, Ryan was our waiter and he went above and beyond. We were on a stag do and he handled it amazingly, he created a custom cocktail for the stag, correctly took every raucous and slightly slurred drink order and was a lot of fun, getting involved with the jokes and really boosting our evening. Bad experience. The worst of my life. Couldn’t sleep because of the rumors of the pigeons out of my window (a lot of pigeons. All the night). The bathroom very bad. Also the room. I’ll never return.

Lovely lunch with a varied choice on the set menu. Staff are very nice and attentive. One wee thing, maybe the aircon could be less fierce. It was a bit uncomfortable. Never occurred to ask to turn down but a lovely staff member who I mentioned it too said if I had said she would have sorted it. Definitely recommend

Enjoyed evening meal on Sunday with friends before trip to Kings Theatre. Very relaxed atmosphere and attentive staff seen to our every need. Meals and cocktails served were delicious, will book again next time in town.

Food was excellent. However a little bit of training for staff serving the tables would not go amiss. We liked the music but felt that it was a little bit loud.

Me and my wife tried this for the first time for our wedding anniversary. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The food was very good. I recommend the Bang Bang Chicken starter! I'll definitely get the burger version next time! Great range of cocktails too! Will definitely be back.
