The Golden Lion Hotel – StirlingThe service was excellent the food was amazing
Steak and Cherry – GlasgowThird rate, needs to understand the market Attempting to compete with accredited restaurants with menu and pricing however quality of food does not match Food was fine, nothing special but equally not terrible quality Service is fast which is never a bad thing
Steak and Cherry – GlasgowThis restaurant has been open for just over 6 months. I have been 4 times and it has been excellent every time. The soups, starters, main courses have all been very good. I will certainly be going again and again in 2023.
Hamnavoe – Orkneys and ShetlandsParty of 16, had the Festive Menu, food was lovely, well presented, staff very friendly and efficient, would definitely recommend going.
The Golden Lion Hotel – StirlingSunday Roast was superbly delicious - all the usual things you'd expect on the plate, but everything just perfectly done. Starter soup (parsnip, celeriac + apple) was extraordinary - who'd have thought it could be that good!
Hamnavoe – Orkneys and ShetlandsGreat pre theatre menu and the staff are very efficient and so helpful Def be back
Steak and Cherry – GlasgowChristmas dinner for 4 pensioners on 16/12/22. Food pre-ordered but on hearing what the soup of the day was, one of our party asked to change to the prawn cocktail - absolutely no problem at all. The courses were served timeously and there was no pressure for us to vacate the table afterwards (which can sometimes be a pain after spending a fair amount on meals and drinks). The staff were friendly, efficient and courteous. Certainly getting back to it’s pre covid high standards.
Ravelston House – EdinburghFirst time at the Ravelston, booked a table for 2. Greeted by a young lad very friendly and polite. The waitress and waiter take took food order were nice and friendly. The food ordered was hot and very tastey. Defo would go back again..
Ravelston House – EdinburghBooked for Christmas lunch for 6. Had to amend to 4 on day. Arrived 5 minutes early table was not ready but just went to bar. Table ready in 10 minutes. Had pre ordered meals as requested but nothing had appeared after 25 minutes. Had to ask then food arrived quickly. Starters were delicious mains -all Turkey and trimmings-were lacking the pigs in blankets but delicious just the same. Desserts again were lovely. Bill arrived without drinks round but that was rectified when asked. Staff were friendly and helpful but having ambient music was quite loud. Good value meal all round
Ravelston House – EdinburghThe cronies dining room was very festive and cosy as it was so cold outside. The waiting staff were polite and friendly and we got our meals in good time. The food was generous and very tasty. It was freshly cooked and I’m sure home made on the premises. It arrived to our table hot and was presented nicely: I thought the menu was very well priced and I’m definitely going back in the new year.
The Golden Lion Hotel – StirlingOur party of 11 had a super evening. The festive Dinner was absolutely delicious (4 different main courses were chosen) and the service was excellent. I would thoroughly recommend it.
The Golden Lion Hotel – StirlingHad the festive menu with wine and it was delicious. No complaints, staff lovely and wouldn't hesitate to recommend
The Golden Lion Hotel – StirlingHad 2 great meals here. Lovely ambience and friendly staff. Food cooked fresh with pan Asian flavours very subtle & excellent. Lobster fab, nut roast scrummy, especially mushroom gravy. Highly recommend this restaurant in Stromness, Orkney. Open part week so get a booking in.
Hamnavoe – Orkneys and ShetlandsThe Hamnavoe is now our regular restaurant of choice. Eugene has created wonderful menus for the Thursday Anju night, Friday and Saturday delicious meals and show- stopping roasts on Sundays. Service led by Morag is spot on and wine lists are intelligently thought out. All in all an excellent place.
Hamnavoe – Orkneys and ShetlandsFirst time visiting Ravelston House on 10th December 2022. The waitress that greeted us was rude and unfriendly then walked away when i said we had a table booked. Another waitress then came over and showed us to our seats who was more friendlier. The first waitress who greeted us came to take our drinks order and again was rude and unfriendly. I think some training on customer service would be beneficial. The food was lovely, I had the half haddock which was a generous portion size whilst the other two in our party had burgers which they both enjoyed too.
Ravelston House – EdinburghWe’ve visited twice and both times found that the reality lived up to the excellent word of mouth. The food is imaginatively prepared with top quality ingredients. The staff are on top form. The wine list looked tempting; pity I was driving…
Hamnavoe – Orkneys and Shetlands2 courses for £16. Available Monday to Friday until 7pm.
