Was at golden lion on Friday 17th March for family meal for husbands 70th birthday food and serving was excellent

Had a wonderful meal on Saturday night. The waitress in attendance was lovely and nothing was a bother to her which was a refreshing change to some places we've eaten. Will definitely return soon.

We had a 2 course evening meal in the restaurant. Tremendous food, best meal in a long time, fantastic attentive service . Lovely staff. We will definitely visit again. Highly recommend. Delicious!

As a regular diner I have found the staff polite and extremely pleasant. The quality of the food is excellent and reasonably priced. On my recent visit (Sat 12 March 2023) the normally peaceful atmosphere was interrupted by a rather noisy group celebrating a birthday. That apart, still had a pleasant evening. Would recommend the Ravelston Hotel.

Visited on a Sunday evening. The staff were very friendly and attentive and the good was really good. The bull was very reasonable for what we had.

Our party of four had a great night out, enjoying pre and post dinner drinks at the Ravelston House Hotel in Musselburgh, and dinner at the Furlongs Restaurant. We had scallops, tempura prawns, Japanese chicken and calamari for starters which were fresh, well cooked and delicious. For mains, we enjoyed cod, steak pie, scampi and Balmoral chicken. The presentation was excellent, our food was hot, tasty, freshly prepared. The meat was tender and the batter crispy. Portion size was just right with vegetables included. The Balmoral chicken was awesome: succulent breast stuffed with haggis served with vegetables, potatoes in a creamy sauce. It was a wonderful atmosphere and ambience and the staff were lovely too.

First time coming here. Food and service was amazing. Only thing I could be negative about was restaurant was cold. Definitely be back again.

Lovely restaurant with an extensive menu. Food was cooked to perfection with large portions. The staff were uber friendly.

Absolutely fantastic Great relaxed atmosphere and really helpful staff.kitchen staff including the chef delifer the mains and are genuinely interested.beautifully cooked and a simple menu makes this a restaurant not to miss. Sadly we were there I the winter and its only open Friday and Saturday otherwise we would have eaten there every night. Don't miss going

Had a lovely meal there for my husband’s birthday. It has a small menu, but varied and caters for vegetarians - in fact the vegetarian options looked so appetising I very nearly chose them! Service is fast, especially considering they are cooking to order. Front of house staff were polite and attentive and greeted us with a smile. They were also very knowledgeable about the menu and able to answer questions. The meals looked beautiful and tasted wonderful. Both fish and meat were cooked to perfection and the side dishes were delicious. We didn’t have dessert as we were too full, but the options were very appealing. Atmosphere is lovely, it is a small space with an open fire at one end, but it didn’t feel cramped. If you are looking for a low cost meal out, this is not the place to go. It is fine dining with high end ingredients and the prices reflect this. However, saying that, we felt it was worth every penny and we will definitely be looking to go back again.

Thoroughly enjoyed our lunch here, Food presented very well. Not fancy just straight forward . Flavour was as should be. & nice and hot. Staff attentive & courteous without being obtrusive. Will recommend to friends & family.

Good and reasonable menu, plenty of choice as well as daily specials. Nice atmosphere. Staff knowledgeable and polite. Food served quickly despite restaurant being full. Was hot flavoursome and generous in proportion. The veg served with the fisherman's pie was superb. Will be back.

Lovely afternoon tea, friendly staff , food was good only comment is we asked for more tea and it was obvious the pot had just been filled up with water and no fresh tea added.

Have had lunch a few times at the Golden Lion. Food always delicious, well presented and good value for money. Staff very helpful and friendly. Would thoroughly recommend.
