Great food damn fine girls I'd tap on the barmaid , one damn fine looking lassy, Good pub meals, good price alcohol, my husband and I named lion Maccormac come here all the time.

Small but interesting menu (changes regularly) with tasty selections very well cooked and presented. Service is attentive without being obtrusive. Decent wine list but might consider adding a few cocktails to the drinks menu.

Booked a family lunch for Mum's Birthday, No complaints we all enjoyed our food along with very friendly service . We be back again soon.

Girls catch up and high tea. Food and service for our high tea was great. Lovely waitress with a sense of humour. Wish we’d got her name as she was fab! Bar staff later seemed to be new. Lovely setting. Will definitely be back

We stayed and ate at the Golden Lion and it was fantastic! Klara who was our waitress was very professional & very bubbly! Food was boiling, yummy & the cheesecake (toffee & biscoff) was to die for! Thank you again! Restaurant was beautifully decorated!

Very pleasant afternoon tea on Mother’s Day 19 March 2023

As always the Food was really delicious yesterday. I had the roast beef and it was so tender. Highly recommend the Biscoff cheesecake too! Even though it was busy staff were attentive and friendly.

Thank goodness for this restaurant in Stromness. High quality food in a very friendly atmosphere with very attentive staff. Each dish is delicious and the attention to detail on the plate is first class.

Absolutely amazing! The place is beautiful and staff are super friendly and the food is delicious. I love that you get a lot of food as well for the price. They also catered for my unusual request of plate size. I am definitely going back.

I will start with a positive, the interaction with the staff was good, they were attentive and very pleasant. The order was very simple, the haggis bon bon's were warm at best by the time my plate arrived at the table and my medium rare steak was well done. It was not worth complaining about at the time as it was edible if not what I ordered. What was a concern was the fact that staff pulled a black wheelie bin through the restaurant while I was eating my dinner which cannot be hygienic and look's totally unprofessional.

Had an excellent meal at the Hamnavoe on Saturday. Service good & meal delicious & everything had an unusual twist. I went for the vegetarian options which were lovely. Tempura aubergine with a spicy dip, & spinach & rocket ravioli with chestnuts & mushrooms & a really subtle sauce with I think fennel. Desserts were a rich chocolate mousse & a honey & lemon polenta cake. It was our second visit and won't be our last.

We had a wonderful meal at Hamnavoe . Delicious well considered menu beautifully cooked . The restaurant is a great size giving lots of atmosphere but cosy. The service was particularly good friendly , cheerful and relaxed. We were so pleased to be able to go on the last night of our holiday , our meal really topped off our stay in beautiful Orkney .

Had a wonderful meal on Saturday night. The waitress in attendance was lovely and nothing was a bother to her which was a refreshing change to some places we've eaten. Will definitely return soon.

We had a 2 course evening meal in the restaurant. Tremendous food, best meal in a long time, fantastic attentive service . Lovely staff. We will definitely visit again. Highly recommend. Delicious!
