Plus and minus. The food was excellent, beautifully cooked and presented. However, It was a confusing menu, we didn't realise that it was basically a fish tapas,and we had expected to order, starter, main and maybe desert. Can see that regular customers could go away very disappointed, certainly with portion sizes and style of the meal. Service good, except the new concept was not made clear to us. Value for money, not so good, we have had many lunches out locally(across Sussex), which are just over half of the price, I think you have possibly made it a marmite place. Food score on taste and quality would be 5, But, on value and choice 2

I haven’t been to Into the Blue for a few years and have to say I was rather disappointed with the Tapas style menu. The only option for a main course size meal was the fish and chips all others were more of a starter size yet still fairly expensive.

Into the Blue is such a gem. Looks unassuming but it’s reliable excellent food, and great value. Lots of specials so you can try something different every time (not that I get to go that often sadly). An absolute must for fish lovers!

The food was delicious doing more tapas style so get to taste a few new things. Service was excellent and very helpful in helping to choose how many dishes etc will definitely be going back.

We’ve been regulars since you opened but yesterday was our first lunch from the new menu. Although we understand your desire to refresh the choices, and increase the prices, we left feeling rather disappointed. We were in a group of six, and maybe the two of us will return, but we’re not so confident now about inviting friends to join us. We all found the choices rather confusing, although the food was good. You previously had a winning formula, with a good seafood menu which kept us coming back. As always the service was excellent.

As usual absolutely delicious. Always a delight to eat at Into the Blue.

Prompt friendly service. Excellent very tasty dishes. Enjoyed the option of several small plates. Cerviche and Indian potatoes highlight dishes but couldn't fault any of the seafood we ordered. White rioja good value

Into the blue has always been our favourite restaurant but a recent visit did leave us a little disappointed . The staff were as lovely as ever but the quantity and quality of the food was just not the same .

Food was very nice, had the new sharing meal, which was very enjoyable, but think it should have had been all fish dishes as found it strange to have a chicken dish with it ( just my opinion ) Also on main menu, found it difficult to see wether there were starters as well as mains as didn’t state on menu Service attentive Have been several times, and would definitely go again for special occasion as quite pricey

We went to Into The Blue as a special treat with my parents, my partner and I had been over a year ago and loved it and unfortunately we came away disappointed. The portions were small and expensive. As the only fish restaurant on Ferry Road I’d have thought they’d like to have regulars who come time and time again for the great tasting food. Instead you come away much poorer and underwhelmed and disgruntled by the portion sizes. They do deliver good flavours, but the poor portions are what you talk about afterwards. We enjoyed the Sussex bouillabaisse, but it came in a small bowl, packed with fish but more soup please. We had to ask for bread to go with it. It was a light lunch at best. I’m afraid, unless they address the portion sizes we won’t be returning which is a real shame.

We've been enjoying delicious meals at Into the Blue for some years and have visited twice since the new menu format. The quality and cooking of the food is as wonderful as ever but we are not keen on the way the meals are now presented, with the vegetables being served separately . We find the veg choices, (altho tasty) don't always compliment the mains. Also, the same menu (with few changes) is offered each time, meaning we would have to repeat some meals if we visited frequently. All in all we prefer the previous menu with the Specials board . We realise that producing those 'works of art' was hard work but they were much appreciated and enjoyed.

We’ve always loved Into the Blue so we were sorry they have changed the dining format. It’s now “small plates”,so it’s difficult to envisage how much or how little you are ordering. Our chilli squid lacked chilli and was rather average .Main courses were ok (small plates of moules and bass )but had to order potatoes and fries as another small plate which seemed pointless and made it more expensive. Lucky we didn’t order any other veg. A bit underwhelmed this time,and felt our £65 lunch (no desert),could have been better spent elsewhere. Not sure why they changed a winning formula?

We have always loved Into The Blue. Unfortunately on our recent trip the evening menu was more limited than usual with many favourites not on the evening menu anymore. The cost was much greater (having to add fries, veg etc on top of the cost of the fish/meat). Food was as good as always but value for money has disappeared. The staff as always were superb. Sadly we decided that we wouldn’t be rushing back.

Absolutely Beautiful..!!! Really Loved it here and can’t wait to come back. Friends recommended us and I can honestly say it was one of the best meals I’ve ever had. Staff were Great, Food was out of this World and I’ve already recommended others.

I went to the restaurant in a foursome Saturday evening as we go there as often as we can It never fails on anything Food drink & service second to none & very reasonably price for the quality

Great seafood, the Dover Sole and salsa verde dressing was sublime, as was the starting squid & pork skewer. Always feel very welcome and enjoy the night out - excellent venue
