Fantastic find! Lovely atmosphere and decor, great food, excellent service.

Absolutely lovely little place. Very quirky. Staff very friendly. We went for breakfast. Had their brunch menu. Pancakes were amazing. With being Coeliac I must have gluten free. Loads of choice! We had to stop looking at the menu because everytime we did, we changed our minds. The menu was fabulous. We will definitely return.

Friendly service, gorgeous food and a lovely setting. Only criticism would be was lack of some options on the menu.

Had an amazing meal at the gate, the steak and the sides were just amazing! Service was excellent and the staff so friendly. My new favourite place to go and eat, it is out of this world!

Steak cooked to perfection, good vegetarian choices for the veggie in the group. Cherry martini and Bramble were delicious and a decent size. Staff were friendly and made sure you had everything you needed. Great value for money, one of the best seasoned and cooked steaks ive had in a long time

Whilst the food was enjoyable, we did have a long wait after ordering to our main course, especially relevant as we were the only diners for the first 20 minutes we were there. Not sure that the Staff serving the alcohol were 18, and that seemed more intent on the attention of a group of lads that came in. This is such a shsmd as we have eaten here many times and it’s always been a nice experience. We have been coming here for just over a year now and the menu choices have not changed.

Good food, reasonably priced, nice surroundings

Excellent food and very friendly and excellent service. We ordered the Sunday lunch and it was the best we have had for some time. The roasts and the vegetarian option were all generous portions and very tasty. We look forward to our next visit.

We dined at the gate on Thursday eve there wasn’t a lot of choice on the menu so we went for the steak I had a ribeye my husband had a sirloin they were very good the chips were nice we also wanted a bottle of red wine the wine we got was awful but there was not a lot of choice no decent wine was available will not go back

We were disappointed by our last meal at the Raven last Sunday night. The menu, although the stationary was new, was the same as... could it be the last 3 years? We had heard that there was a new chef and hoped the food would be as good as before. It was not too busy that evening. After we placed our food order, there was a long wait. Most meals were tasty and well presented, except mine: I had a roast vegetable skewer with yoghurt and mint sauce. Although I was the last to be served, the vegetables were not cooked, just slightly charred on the outside and the sauce only appeared 10 minutes after I had started eating, to join the others. Later on, we wanted to order a second round of drinks and the waitress said she would be right back to take our order. She never came back so we did not order second drinks. We decided to have pudding at home rather than risk more waiting. I told Kerry that we were disappointed by the service. She apologised and said one of the chefs had been taken to hospital with a fit. We wish we were told straight away, we would have been understanding.

Fabulous steaks and the espresso martini was delicious. Staff were friendly. Looking forward to going back.

Very nice food and friendly staff.

Really good food, the only thing I would say is include that the steak comes with a side rocket, as I ordered a side of rocket and it was a waste but the best steak I’ve had in a while and I’ve recommended to everyone. Great portion sizes, lovely service
