Absolutely fabulous local pub/restaurant serving really good food. Steaks are superb and the steak and ale pie is to die for! We stayed earlier in the year for my wife’s 80th and the rooms are brilliant and quirky. We will return!
The Maypole – SkiptonThere were 9 of us and from making the booking to the evening itself we were looked after well. Generally in big parties you need to pre-order but that wasn't necessary and we were not kept waiting on the night. Food and service were really good. There were a few menu items that were unavailable and the wine choice was limited but all in all we had a great night.

Le Bistro Des Amis – SkiptonWe had lovely evening here as part of a Yorkshire break weekend. The staff were pleasant and the food was great. However, at the foot of the stairs was piled up furniture, this would be better stored out of site. Many customers went up the wrong stairs to the toilets, consider displaying a humorous, light hearted, sign stating something like; 'Unless you a great at French Onion soup, the toilets are not in this direction '. We are lovers of Tiramsuo and often buy it from supermarkets. The one we were served on the night had too many, uncanny, characteristics of our shop bought preferences. If I were a betting man, I would say the desert wasn't produced from scratch in the kitchen.

Le Bistro Des Amis – SkiptonA lovely visit on Thursday lunchtime. The staff were so friendly & efficient. Even though there were quite a few diners in, we did not have to wait long for the food. The food was excellent! Starters of creamy tomato soup & a crab stacker followed by steak frites ( where the knife cut through the steak like butter) & a fish parcel in a lobster bisque. They were so tasty! Too full for a pudding but a lovely latte rounded off the meal nicely! A good choice of wine enhanced the meal. All in all it was very good value for money & we look forward to visiting again soon.

The food was excellent and the menu ( evening ) very tempting! I look forward to another visit when next in Skipton.

This was our first visit, we visited midweek and the Bistro was busier than I expected, despite this the wait times were short and the waiting staff were constantly checking all tables to see if anyone needed anything. We will be back!

The Maypole – SkiptonVisited Le Bistro Friday lunch time with a friend. Was greeted on arrival & shown to table. Water brought to the table. After reading the menu we ordered our choice of starters & mains. Couldn't fault anything. The food was delicious, the presentation was lovely & great service. We paid as we left, we were advised of the service charge but there was nothing of this prior! We did pay this as couldn't fault anything, although we had left a tip at the table. We will be definitely be back.
