Lovely welcome. Friendly responsive staff. Food was delicious we had the steak pie which was excellent . We went back two nights on the trot we enjoyed it so much .

We called at the Maypole on our way back from a weekend away in the Lakes. I booked a table on line and received confirmation of the booking straight away. We were warmly welcomed on arrival and made to feel at home. The food was absolutely delicious and the team were extremely friendly and helpful when choosing our food from the menu. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meals and we will definitely come back. I would highly recommend the Maypole.

A lovely meal the chicken pate was a meal on its own. The Yorkshire beef on the specials board was very good. We were staying at the the Plough Wigglesworth for three days Wished we had found you earlier far superior meal and choice, When we return to Yorkshire we will call in.

We love the Maypole - there is always a lovely welcome as you walk through the door, the atmosphere is good, the food is excellent - tasty, homemade and a good price. There is plenty of car parking at the rear of the building and it's a good calling place for refreshment whilst travelling. Well done Maypole - keep it up. xx

Excellent meal, good home cooked food friendly staff and service, good value for money

A lovely lunchtime meal for our little group of 4. Service excellent and our little dog made particularly welcome!

Enjoyed a lovely meal with the hubby, we had steak and kidney pie and chicken in a cream sauce both meals more than ample portions served piping hot. Nice selection of veg and delicious home made chips. Good selection of wine/ beers/lagers/cider and lovely friendly staff. We have been several times and never disappointed.

Good vegetarian choices and all meals homemade and reasonably priced. Great to see trout with almonds (as a special) and sherry trifle on the menu , rare to find either these days. Both were delicious. Friendly service too. Pretty noisy on Saturday night with live singer, much quieter on Sunday.

Really tasty freshly cooked food in just the right quantities. Service excellent and great value for money. All set in a quaint village pub. What more could you want?

Lovely family meal, everything was beautifully cooked and the portions were generous and reasonably priced. Craig and the staff are all friendly and polite. The Maypole has a warm welcoming atmosphere. We will be sure to return.

We visited the Maypole,on sunday the 12th of march and booked it for 2pm.When we got there it was empty nobody in,only us.Couldn't understand that.Anyway we ordered our meal my hubby had pork loin on the specials board an I had steak pie they both came with potatoes mashed and new potatoes and 3 veg and gravy.The staff were very attentive.Another couple came in while we were having our meal,and they ordered something to eat as well.The food was lovely,no complaints at all.It was just very quiet in there and not much atmoshere.

We had a meal for 10 (6 adults and 4 children) on Sunday for my birthday. Food was delicious, delivered quickly and plenty of it. Highly recommend the fish and chips! Children’s menus slightly less choice as a couple of things were not available, but there was something for everyone. The staff are friendly and helpful.
