Very nice pub/restaurant overlooking the Tyne harbour. The food is lovely, freshly cooked and is good English fare. The staff are very friendly and attentive. The portions can be rather big, but they also cater for those with a smaller appetite. One little criticism, they tend to serve mushy peas, with just about everything, but don't be afraid to ask for an alternative. They're very accommodating. I recommend and will be back.

Harbour Lights – South ShieldsHad a meal at the harbour lights on Christmas eve, my wife had the fish and chips and thoroughly enjoyed it. Unfortunately I had the gammon steak and it very very salty to the point I couldn't eat it, the manager was excellent about it and I didn't have to pay for it, other than that we had a very nice time, the staff are excellent and very friendly, we will be back

Beef melted in my mouth no need for a knife and hubby's chicken was succulent not at all dry. Staff were as friendly , welcoming and efficient as always which makes lunch even better. Would highly recommend you try here but don't forget to book first as it is very popular

Harbour Lights – South ShieldsWe visited Harbour Lights last night as a Christmas get together , we knew the food was good as we had heard . We were slightly apprehensive as the last time we were in , the staff were very abrupt to the point of ignorance, ( this was 8 months ago) . We needn’t have been concerned , it’s now in the hands of the same person who has the Lookout pub just round the corner. Food was excellent, steaks cooked to perfection , staff could not have been better , lovely polite people who came over a number of times to check if all was ok . Highly recommended place for both food or just a nice quiet drink. Will definitely be back , check out the Lookout also , well done all .

Harbour Lights – South ShieldsWe attended for lunch on Tuesday 17th for my nanas birthday. Staff were lovely and attentive, a few of us had starters of pork belly sticky bites which were lovely. Half of our table had mince and dumplings which everyone said was beautiful. I had chicken parmo with mushroom topping, topping was lovely but chicken a little dry and a little burnt on the sides my wife had hunters chicken and again unfortunately overcooked but everything else the sides etc were lovely. Overall we had a lovely time and would go back and maybe order the mince and dumplings next time as they looked beautiful.
