Had a lovely catch up with some visiting out of country friends over a tasty pub meal and drinks. I chose the Platform Tavern not only because of the reviews about the food and staff, but for the ambience of a traditional pub with an updated local flare. The fish and chips were awesome and the chorizo and lamb koftas tapas were tasty. The seafood tapas a bit less so (our only very slight disappointment) Super service from our friendly, attentive waiter made for a great evening.

Fantastic food - tasty, well-priced, and good portions - great service, good selection of drinks, and very enjoyable live music. Nothing not to like! My partner and I are regulars here and I often take friends visiting Southampton here as well.

A very friendly pub staff always friendly & helpful, we had a good Sunday lunch & really enjoyed listening to Steve on the guitar fantastic! Great Atmosphere!

We had a Sunday roast and it was fantastic. I had beef and my wife chicken. We both could not fault the food in anyway, good quick service and excellent ales. I just needed a hammock to go to sleep in afterwards for a nap before the music began, but you can’t have everything?

Pre theatre meal booked for 4. Quite a small place with tables close together, which wasn't great when you're next to a noisy group (not the restaurant's fault). Atmosphere felt a bit hectic and short staffed. Food was really good though, carbonara, fish and chips, burger and mac and cheese, all delicious. Staff very friendly.

Booked a table for dinner for 2 on a Tuesday evening. Situated just up the road from the Mayflower Theatre it's in an Ideal position for a pre-theatre meal. My lasagne bore a few marks that it had been cooked a couple of times but it was still plentiful and enjoyable. My wife's carbonara looked delicious and tasted likewise. There were plenty of empty tables, service was fairly quick. There is no adjoining parking. Price was inexpensive.

Sunday lunch for 4, on 18/6/23. Our group enjoyed super plates of food( plus a couple of puddings; we were too full to order more!). Everything was really well cooked and presented, and the staff were brilliant. Highly recommend.

Great Pub, delicious food, good service from very friendly and welcoming people and fantastic music venue. Would highly recommend.

Lovely meal lovely atmosphere staff friendly would go again

My husbands food was lovely sticky salmon …. Mine sadly was awful …. Lasagne with probably two tablespoons of meat in it … no bechamel sauce inbetween the pasta layers it was so dry that I hardly ate any … you were busy so no check back done during meal if so I would have sent back … I can’t believe there was no sauce inbetween the layers that’s what lasagne is??? … staff were lovely but we wouldn’t return

We must have picked a bad day to try this place. Although our order was taken after a short time of being seated we then waited almost an hour for our food. When it came the food was very poor the chicken in the jerk chicken burger was dry, overcooked and hard to eat. Fries were way too salty. Not very good at all for the money and will definitely not book here again.

Very welcoming & friendly service. Food was presented well, although mac & cheese tasted like Mac & Cream. Would have been great if Parmesan was available as quite a few Italian dishes on the menu - I heard table next door ask for it too. We would definitely visit again but would choose a different dish :-)

Had a great pre theatre meal on Tuesday. All the ingredients including the Salmon were delicious and fresh. Great welcome and attentive staff.

we booked a table to eat before going to the theatre. It was fairly quiet when we arrived and were served immediately. The service was friendly and efficient from all the staff and the food was served quickly and was absolutely delicious. We will definitely go there again.

Staff were friendly attentive and welcoming . The restaurant was clean and had a lovely atmosphere. The fish and chips were superb.Thoroughly recommend you try them . We always eat before we go to the Mayflower so we will be booking a table as soon as we book our tickets for the next show

Roast lamb was amazing. The lamb was very tender with very generous portions of vegetables. Great atmosphere with good music. Good service and friendly staff.
