This pub has served one of the best roast dinners in Southampton with accompanying live music at a very reasonable price for the last 25 that I have visited. It is always our first choice when going out for a roast. We have honestly never ever had a complaint with the food or service in those 25 years. This old school live music bar has a great atmosphere, great live acts regularly, lovely food and has always had very friendly helpful staff. Get yourself down there and support them. You won't be disappointed. Thank you Platform Tavern, musicians and staff for yet another beuatiful roast on oiur anniversary 10 out of 10

Thank you for making us feel welcome and the food and service was excellent, we were away for the weekend and didn’t know about pubs and restaurants in the area , but found you via google search and definitely make a excellent choice

Foods ok. Not as good as it used to be… Pub itself is excellent. Staff are great. Bands are awesome

Staying in Sway as our grandson is at Southampton uni. So been feeding him up for.the weekend! Booked a carvery for 2pm. Staff sooo lovely. Please pat them.on the back! Food perfect hot and yummy. Had gammon beef pork between us 3. All really yum. Thanks so much. We're from Norfolk and we love a good carvery! Great price too!Thanks again.

Table was ready on arrival. All meat and veg at the carvery were excellent. Lamb, Gammon, Pork and Beef, roast potatoes, parsnips, cauliflower cheese etc etc all we’re in abundance and beautifully cooked. Incredible value as well! Definitely going back! And the staff were efficient and polite. What more could you want.

3 friends and l met for lunch at The Master Builder. The food was good as was the service. We all agreed we would meet again there.

Excellent Sunday roast and the chicken and leek pie roast was also very good. Super value for money and great pub atmosphere.

We always visit the Platform Tavern when visiting So’ton, especially on a Sunday…… excellent roasts with generous serving of meat at a great price and equally good sticky toffee pudding. Always have a decent range of beers/ales on tap and the frequent live music acts are a definite bonus. Thanks to the friendly staff, great service!

Three of us had the Sunday roast. Good portion with friendly service. Pub was quiet when we arrived around 4:30 but quickly filled up. Great bit of humour on door to Gents loo - you have to experience it in person!

Fantastic Sunday roast with family to celebrate Mum's birthday. Easy to book a table of 6 online, great service on the day and delicious meal. Live music sounded great too as we were finishing our meal! Thanks to all the staff!

Great atmosphere and venue, live music was great. Drinks are a bit expensive with £10.50 for a large glass... But otherwise super tasty roast.

Came here on Sunday for the Roast, was not dissapointed. Roast beef was perfectly cooked and loads of food! Sticky Toffee Pudding was magnificent! It was a plus to have the live music too

Our first time visiting the Master Builder. 3 Adults, Saturday Evening for a meal. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meal, every last mouthful! One had Gammon, one had homemade Lasagne and one had the Turkey and Gammon pie - Absolutely delicious! Excellent value for money. Thank you! Would definitely recommend and will definitely be returning next time we are in the area!

Had a great meal last night homemade fish pie absolutely delicious and one of my friends had room just! For a pudding that looked amazing and he enjoyed it.As always friendly staff clean cozy atmosphere full marks.
