Quite possibly the worst fish and chip experience I have had the misfortune to endure. I had to repeat the order 5 times! Just before I took the order away I asked the guy to repeat the order and check it was all there. I got home and it wasnt! In the fish I discovered a piece of plastic I nearly swallowed. The food was very poor quality and greasy. Perhaps worst of all was the condition of the service area. Admittedly it was late, but you would have thought they would have kept things clean. It was that bad that a couple came in, pointed at the mess and left.. I will never return.

what a lovely place, the food was great, the service was greater, and we made friends with the table next to us, which we have never done before, everything was enjoyable , we went to Thailand last year .... and this is the best Thai Food we have found in the area, they don't know it yet but i am having a big family get-together in October, and this is the place we will be, its not often i actually go online and say thanks, but this is it, also thank you Sugarvine for helping us find this place STEVE

Day out in St Annes, revisiting childhood haunts, took my two kids here. Nothing but good things to say. Within a minute of getting in, the wonderfully friendly staff had brought menus. Two minutes later we had drinks. We ordered, less than 10 minutes later, the food was on our table, and it was fabulous. Great food, great staff, great value, nothing but good things. Excellent stuff.

Have been to this venue many times and have always been treated extremely well. They also look after our children very well too. The food selection is very good, and we've taken advantage of the early bird menu during the week, or had meals at the weekend have tried various complementary dishes. The quality of the food is excellent. The new menu is also very good, and they always want to try different food rather than the standard kormas and masalas. I’d recommend it, and been there with larger groups as well.

Cant believe I only went for the first time last week and I live right around the corner! Honestly though this place has it spot on, from the well groomed staff to the flavoursome food to the Mediterranean atmosphere, everything was just great, we just felt so relaxed we stayed for a while after the meal and had some cocktails outside under the parasols with the heat lamps on and the Greek music in the background we really felt like we were on holiday. Now our new local without a doubt! If your looking for class then I definitely recommend!

We ate here for the first time last night and will not be rushing back. For a Friday night it was very quiet, whilst everywhere in St Annes seemed busy. The food was very disappointing and overpriced. I do not appreciate having to remove the intestinal tract from prawns because the chef is too lazy to do it.

I went here last night with 2 friends to and had a superb meal. I had the Chicken Skewers Satay to start which were very fresh and tasty. For main course I had the Roasted Duck with Mixed Vegetable in a Light Oyster Sauce, the Duck was very tender and just as the starter tasted very fresh. If you like Chinese/Thai food that is a lot different to your local takeaway, go here you wont be let down The price was very reasonable for the 3 of us & the restaurant is done out superbly very elegant. Will definitely be returning soon. Thank You

Ate there a few months ago and the food was so good , I asked the management about having a birthday meal and was told I could be easily and comfortably accommodated . Whilst trying to book the meal a month later , I encountered a very rude and bombastic waiter on the door who gruffly refused my request to book it on a night when there were no written bookings in the diary . In these times , I was under the impression that the waiters served the customers and not vice versa .

After reading the recommendations on this site i am sorry to say that the Olive Tree did not live up to our expectations. The food was tasteless which was very surprising for a Greek restaurant. We had four different waiters and still i had to remind them regarding drinks .My family and i where very disappointed and on top of it all they charged us twenty pounds to much and were not at all friendly when we pointed this out. Maybe i should have spoken scouse with my family instead of Swedish.5-8-2010.

Just returned from a superb spontaneous visit to Zen in St Annes. As locals we have missed going to Tiggis/Joya sinced it closed, but Zen could well be our new favourite place in town. The restaurant is very well decorated providing a warm authentic setting, and the staff are very friendly and attentive. Most importantly the food is absolutely spot on. We shared a mixed starter including fantastic ribs and a very tasty fishcakes. Our Thai mains were excellent too, and having had similar dishes at Siam in Lytham we both agreed that this was easily on par if not better. Indeed the food was amazingly tasty, fresh and well prepared, we were both marvelling through the whole meal. A shared starter, 2 mains, 1 serving of egg fried rice and 2 Tiger Beers came to £30, excellent value considering the whole experience. If you've looked at Zen's own website, don't be put off. They've only been open a few weeks and the site clearly need enhancement. This is a place that St Annes can really be proud of and we look forward to returning with friends and family soon!

Zen gave us the best dining experience we've had in a long time. We eat out 2-3 times a week at different places so we are very experienced diners! The staff are excellent, so friendly and helpful. We were asking about the decor which is absolutely stunning and were told by Khim the owner that most of it had been shipped in from Thailand so everything you see is authentic. We had the set Thai menu for two people which allows you sample most of the starters which was great as we couldn't decide what we wanted to try! The massaman beef curry and chilli chicken were our mains and this comes with the rice served in a halved pineapple which looked as great as it tasted. Four of us dined and we had 2 bottles of wine, 2 glasses of wine, 2 soft drinks, the set menu for two and 3 starters and 2 other mains and the bill only came to £105. We can't recommend this place enough, please go if you enjoy great food and service. If you dine anywhere else I'd say you'd be wasting your money! 10/10 I'll be booking in again very soon.

Beautiful authentic decor, as well as authentic uniforms. Our meal was superb and hot and very good value for money. I have recommended this to family and friends and we will be returning on a regular basis. Keep up the good work Zen

We visited on a Wednesday night for the £9.95 four course offer. Excellent value for money. The service was courteous and always with a friendly smile. Food was delicious washed down with King Cobra and Kingfisher beer. We will go back again very soon.

We had the Sunday carvery today at £8.95 per person. The staff were helpful and friendly, the vegetables were delicious. The portions of carvery meat were far from generous and I wouldn't recommend the crackling unless your teeth are made of steel! Potatoes selection quite disappointing too, roasties a bit soggy, lumpy mash or boring old boiled. Luckily the giant yorkshires and gravy were yummy. If we go again we'd opt for a day other than Sunday when it's a bit cheaper. Overall only a 6 out of 10 from us.
