The Zen Restaurant – St. Annes-On-SeaJust returned from a superb spontaneous visit to Zen in St Annes. As locals we have missed going to Tiggis/Joya sinced it closed, but Zen could well be our new favourite place in town. The restaurant is very well decorated providing a warm authentic setting, and the staff are very friendly and attentive. Most importantly the food is absolutely spot on. We shared a mixed starter including fantastic ribs and a very tasty fishcakes. Our Thai mains were excellent too, and having had similar dishes at Siam in Lytham we both agreed that this was easily on par if not better. Indeed the food was amazingly tasty, fresh and well prepared, we were both marvelling through the whole meal. A shared starter, 2 mains, 1 serving of egg fried rice and 2 Tiger Beers came to £30, excellent value considering the whole experience. If you've looked at Zen's own website, don't be put off. They've only been open a few weeks and the site clearly need enhancement. This is a place that St Annes can really be proud of and we look forward to returning with friends and family soon!
The Zen Restaurant – St. Annes-On-SeaMy favourite restaurant EVER! Loved the decor, loved the food, loved the staff and the prices are very reasonable! I would definitely recommend going to Zen, and will definitely be going back again.... and again.... and again!!!
The Zen Restaurant – St. Annes-On-SeaWent last Saturday night, and without boring you in too much detail, ill sum it up in a nutshell,.... Absolutely Top Drawer in every way possible!!! without doubt my new favourite Chinese and would recommend this gaff to anyone who'll listen! ...just go and you'll see what i mean!
The Zen Restaurant – St. Annes-On-SeaZen gave us the best dining experience we've had in a long time. We eat out 2-3 times a week at different places so we are very experienced diners! The staff are excellent, so friendly and helpful. We were asking about the decor which is absolutely stunning and were told by Khim the owner that most of it had been shipped in from Thailand so everything you see is authentic. We had the set Thai menu for two people which allows you sample most of the starters which was great as we couldn't decide what we wanted to try! The massaman beef curry and chilli chicken were our mains and this comes with the rice served in a halved pineapple which looked as great as it tasted. Four of us dined and we had 2 bottles of wine, 2 glasses of wine, 2 soft drinks, the set menu for two and 3 starters and 2 other mains and the bill only came to £105. We can't recommend this place enough, please go if you enjoy great food and service. If you dine anywhere else I'd say you'd be wasting your money! 10/10 I'll be booking in again very soon.
The Zen Restaurant – St. Annes-On-SeaBeautiful authentic decor, as well as authentic uniforms. Our meal was superb and hot and very good value for money. I have recommended this to family and friends and we will be returning on a regular basis. Keep up the good work Zen
The Zen Restaurant – St. Annes-On-SeaWe visited on a Wednesday night for the £9.95 four course offer. Excellent value for money. The service was courteous and always with a friendly smile. Food was delicious washed down with King Cobra and Kingfisher beer. We will go back again very soon.
Gemma Indian Restaurant – St. Annes-On-SeaWe had the Sunday carvery today at £8.95 per person. The staff were helpful and friendly, the vegetables were delicious. The portions of carvery meat were far from generous and I wouldn't recommend the crackling unless your teeth are made of steel! Potatoes selection quite disappointing too, roasties a bit soggy, lumpy mash or boring old boiled. Luckily the giant yorkshires and gravy were yummy. If we go again we'd opt for a day other than Sunday when it's a bit cheaper. Overall only a 6 out of 10 from us.
Salters Wharf Toby Carvery – St. Annes-On-SeaAs a Yorkshireman now resident in the Red Rose county and a lifetime connoisseur of fish and chips, only one true comment, " SIMPLY THE BEST "
St Annes Fish Restaurant – St. Annes-On-SeaHave been to this place many times before, and was looking forward to going again. We took some friends, visiting from down south and ......well lets just say we will not be going again. Staff were more bothered about when they were taking their break than when we got any more wine...and we had to send food back because it was like a dogs chew....very disappointing. For good food and great service.........Go somewhere else......Oh and yes I LOVE my Greek food.....and if you do .... your better finding somewhere else.
Olive Tree Brasserie – St. Annes-On-SeaWent to the Moghul Premier while staying in Lytham on Friday and will definitely going back! The menu was extensive and dishes were tasty and different, unlike many of the meals in our local Indian restaurants, including those on the curry mile in Manchester. Service was also friendly and attentive. Really enjoyed it and looking forward to our next visit.
Moghul Tandoori Restaurant – St. Annes-On-Seawe went for the early bird at the Olive Tree. The food was very good and the staff pleasant. My only gripe was that I ordered a glass of wine and was served a large (250ml) one without being asked if I would like a standard glass. The wine cost £4.55 which is almost half the cost of my two course meal! I realise i could have returned it but was reluctant to make a fuss. I am saddened when good restaurants resort to this type of practice.
Olive Tree Brasserie – St. Annes-On-SeaThis restaurant is always a pleasure to visit. The food is delicious and reasonably priced. The staff are brilliant & always helpful. One of my favourite places to dine out.
Olive Tree Brasserie – St. Annes-On-SeaThis place is the premier Indian eatery in the area. Exquisite food, excellent service and ambiance.
Moghul Tandoori Restaurant – St. Annes-On-SeaThe Zen Restaurant is an absolute gem. I was struck as soon as I arrived by the authentic, sumptuous decor and polite welcome. I ordered and the food arrived, prepared to perfection and presented beautifully. Throughout my meal the staff were attentive without smothering, and were prompt at removing my dirty plate and providing the bill. All told, this is one of the best Chinese restaurants I have visited in the past five years.
