My wife and I visited The Queensway last Monday with friends who live in Lytham and dine there regularly. Very impressed. Meal prices very reasonable; food excellent, beer cold, waitress, Kate, was patient and charming. Will certainly visit again when in the area. Not bothered about discount, just wanted to appreciate the staff and quality. George Russell BSc

I DO NOT recommend this restaurant. I had been to the restaurant twice before and had a really good meal as had two others in the party so we recommended it. Two of the party came over from Southport and another 2 from Preston on our recommendation, so you can imagine how extremely disappointed we all were. I booked for a party of 8 to dine at The Olive Tree on Saturday night, table booked for 8.15p.m. We all seated before 8.15. They knew exactly what time we were arriving and how many of us were in the party as they phoned on Saturday morning to confirm. They were busy but not excessively so. 5 starters were ordered which didn't arrive until 9.00. Then the main courses didn't arrive until gone 10.00, and when we complained about the bad service the waiter immediately started to argue with us and told us there had been a problem in the kitchen. At no time did anyone come and explain the reason for the long delay, had they done so and perhaps offered us a drink or nibbles whilst we were waiting then we would have understood completely - but nothing. Eventually the Manager came out to us (after he was asked for by one of our party), he also came out all defensive then changed tack when he heard our complaints. One of the party's main meal was cold and so it was returned hardly touched. The roast potatoes were awful, it seemed they had been cooked earlier in the day and either kept warm or re-heated. Meals were also muddled up and given to wrong people. By way of apology we were given 10% off the bill - the bill came to just under £200 for 8! The steps on the exit at night are impossible to see which is a Health & Safety problem as somebody could fall and seriously hurt themselves. All in all we will not be returning to this restaurant and will not be recommending it, in fact when asked giving our reasons why.

I phoned up to book this restaurant despite reading bad reviews it was close for everyone in our party. The woman asked straight away if we were an under 18s party i said no we were a retirement do. They would only reserve our table for 10 if we left a five pound per head deposit which was not possible. I said we couldn't do this and could we avoid that, we were a retirement do who would not mess them around. The woman was snotty and rude implying that she didn't need our buisness anyway. For this reason, i been put off by her rude manner and not even entered the place but booked elsewhere, if they're that bad mannered on the phone god knows what they're like on a busy evening in the place!

A rarely seen beach cafe that ticks all the boxes. Great food, reasonably priced with efficient and friendly service. Its fully licenced with a good selection of wine and beer and importantly, the dining areas and toilets are always clean, even on the busiest of days.

Thanks to Jack outside for the great service and food provided for my recent party. A last minute party and keith was very accommodating to deal with. No problem recommending, if you like me can't be bothered to cooking yourself. June 2009

We went to the Olive Tree this past weekend and couldn't resist asking to have our meal outside as it looked so nice with all the tables set up with candles (and there was only one table free) looked like everyone had the same idea! the place was full outside and inside and we truly haven't had a meal that nice for years, its no surprise it was so busy as where else can you enjoy food that nice around here and sit in a beautiful restaurant garden with Mediterranean music in the background! What a place.

The three of us had a great tapas meal here last Friday, followed by a platter of fine Lancashire cheeses!

Five of us went out for my girlfriends birthday on a Monday night. The Olive Tree was pretty busy which was a great sign in these times. The young front of house staff were attentive on arrival and did a good job throughout the night. We all opted for the Mezze which was excellent. The house wine was good and the place serves Peroni on tap. The Olive Tree has a really nice ambience in the evening though I fancy trying it out on a sunny day Al Fresco. Round off your meal with Greek coffee if you dare, I still haven't been to sleep....

For the past 10 years we have dined regularly at Jacks. The food is always good quality, well presented and reasonably priced. There is also a good choice of wines. The early bird/specials menu changes weekly and always has something new to try on it. Keith and his staff always make us very welcome and we have not found anywhere to beat this restaurant.

The sun was out so we thought about where to go to catch it and eat. The Grand was perfect with its al fresco terrace facing the setting sun. Also the taps style food was exactly what we required on a sunny day. Service was friendly and professional.

Our first visit to Greens this evening. Simply well cooked food, superbly presented, in pleasant surroundings, with a really warm atmosphere. The staff were very attentive and friendly but never pushy, the menu choices are varied. One thing that did not vary was the quality - excellent throughout. Our first visit will not be our last.

We visited the restaurant for our first time last Friday, as we arrived we were greeted by the extremely friendly staff who were a spectacular to us all evening. The food was outstanding, hats off to the head chef, my husband went for the kleftico and I went for the melitzana, we thoroughly enjoyed both dishes and the Greek yogurt sundae for dessert topped off a delicious meal. If you want good quality food the olive tree is the place to go!

Excellent food, excellent service, and their 4-courses-for-a-tenner offer is excellent value for money. Genuinely the best Indian restaurant I've ever eaten in in the UK.

We went to the olive tree on saturday the 28th.We booked a table for 7.30 and ordered for just before 8pm. The service was ok but the food was disappointing we had to wait for an hour and ten mins for our main course. When it did arrive it was on the cool side, not wanting to wait anymore we ordered coffee witch was very bitter and the milk was sour. I do not know what has happened to this restaurant but it is a shadow of its former self, what a shame I will not be back in a hurry if at all .I THINK PEOPLE SHOULD SEE ALL REVIEWS.

Staying in Blackpool for a few days and chose this Indian, after using this and seeing others recommendations. The 4 course set meal is now £9.99 not £8 as detailed on here but it is still great value. We had 2 children and 2 kids in our party and including 2 lots of drinks, we spent £40. We could not finish it all, so shows the great value. Staff were very friendly, though our waiters English was not the best but if you are in the Blackpool area...give this place a go.
