Terrible meal. Do not go here. Service slow, wine (£14 a bottle) little more than pink vinegar, garlic mushrooms were old rancid mushrooms in a slab of butter with a glove of raw garlic crushed over the top, mains were OK, like a supermarket ready meal palatable but quite tasteless, pudding (tiramisu) was inedible, appeared to have no coffee or masala wine in it. Overall impression was of cheap and nasty place, run by cleap and nasty staff with cheap and nasty food. But not cheap price. Shockingly bad. And also I was up in the night vomiting after I ate here, my partner had the runs... coincidence?

Food was okay, price okay, service okay...... would I go back??? Not until I have tried some of the others... there is nothing here dragging me back unfortunately

We regularly come here and we recently had a party (24th July) in the lounge with a Disco/Karoke and buffet. We couldn't have wished for a better evening. It was a night to remember. The food was perfect, as usual. Gill, Peter and all of the staff make you very welcome and are always helpful. Our guests came from all over the country and were very complimentary about the food, drinks and prices.

Visited the Bistro le Coq this week. Lovely place and good choice of drinks. Had starter for 2 which was very good. However, our main meals were very poor. My partner ordered the lamb and it was dry and hard. My steak was undercooked and had a very overbearing taste of charcoal. The salad in both cases was past its' best. The french fries were a frozen variety and over cooked to the point of being dry. I would have liked to discuss the problems with our waitress, but she had gone home. No one else seemed to be interested. Overall, a poor result from a restaurant that promises so much.

This is a lovely and friendly restaurant. The staff are really friendly and can't do enough to make your evening special! The food is excellent - we have never had a bad meal there - takeaway or eating in. I would wholeheartedly recommend it!

Fantastic food,great childrens menu, great value for your money,we have a meal every saturday evening, then enjoy the free entertainment that is provided in the lounge,Gill Pete and all the staffs make you very welcome, you would have to go a long way to beat excellent food,excellent beer,superb entertainment all under one roof.

went to le coq last wed for lunch. the food was fantastic, best in the area, service brilliant. the only downside for my partner and i was the atmosphere. every one else was in their 60's or 70's, we couldn't believe it - where were all the young people, the 30&40 somethings?? whilst enjoying our food we had to listen to old people grumbling about their ailments and describing recent operations - quite off-putting. i would definitely go again, perhaps in an evening, but if i walk in and its full of elderly people i shall walk out again!! they need to encourage a mixed age range.

We held our wedding reception here on 23rd May and eat here on a regular basis - Excellent in every way: Gill, Peter and staff did us proud: food quality superb, service and staff wonderful. Everyone had what they wanted to eat and there was more than enough. Nothing was too much trouble Thank you! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

The best curry i've had in ages! The staff are friendly too which is always a bonus! Would recommend it to anyone!
