The Royal Oak – UlverstonA really great experience dining at the Farmer Arms last Saturday evening. The food (curry night) was delicious and the service friendly and efficicient. We were a large party including cildren and everyone had a really good time.
Farmers Arms – UlverstonPizzas were delicious but had to wait ages ! Would have been happy if someone had just said - sorry we’re busy and there’s going to be a wait when we ordered. It’s a great place and would like to support but needs to get better at the organisation and planning .
Farmers Arms – UlverstonI really want to support a community pub but this was chaotic. We arrived at the correct booked time to be told "we don't take bookings." We were extremely lucky that a table for 5 was available, ten minutes later and we would have been out. The pizzas were good but service a bit slow. We ordered dessert but none arrived. We wanted coffee but were told, "coffee finishes at 6pm!" After waiting some time without dessert we went to pay and were told the chef had walked out, although it was not clear when. The whole management of the pub and food was disorganised although it was clear that the staff were working their socks off. They need some system and back up to make this work.
Farmers Arms – UlverstonFriendly pub and great curry!
Farmers Arms – UlverstonLovely food and friendly staff
Farmers Arms – UlverstonAnother delicious Sunday lunch - venison and all the sunday roast accompaniments followed by their amazing Basque cheesecake. This is the place we always choose when guests visit us. Friendly staff and a great atmosphere.
Farmers Arms – UlverstonAmazing service going above and beyond to accommodate my daughter who is a fussy eater. Such a friendly bar man seeming genuinely interested in our day. And THE best Thai food ❤️
Kings Arms – UlverstonFabulous Saturday evening curry with friendly, knowledgeable staff.
Farmers Arms – UlverstonWe attended the Saturday night. The food was lovely as were the staff.
Farmers Arms – Ulverston8 in our party thoroughly enjoyed the meal. Highly recommended.
Kings Arms – UlverstonWe had a wonderful Sunday Lunch here whist visiting our Daughter who lives locally, perfectly cooked and very tasty. One small niggle, it was quite chilly and would have benefitted from the nice open fire being lit. Staff were very friendly. Will definitely return.
The Royal Oak – UlverstonFood was very , very tasty a high standard, service, friendly and relaxed…we had dinner Saturday night…it’s a great pub, working hard to be amazing…definitely getting there and definitely worth a visit
The Royal Oak – UlverstonFood was good (chicken Caesar salad excellent and gammon good).., was disappointed menu had changed as I’d been a week before and had the steak which was excellent and had looked forward all day to my steak. Which unfortunately had been taken off the new menu and I had to have the chicken Caesar salad which was good but did not compare with the excellent quality and the cooking of the steak . My party felt the music was a bit loud and struggled to hear the conversations.. I will definitely return and fingers crossed the steak will come back on the menu
The Royal Oak – UlverstonWent for family meal for daughters birthday, lovely pub, food excellent and wonderful service. I had beef and potato pie, meat was cooked to perfection. My only complaint would be that the menu had less choice at the lower price range than shown on on website, but there was more choice of pricier specials. But it was worth the money and all 5 of us enjoyed the meal we had.
The Royal Oak – UlverstonWe had been told that the good here was good so we decided to go. It certainly did not disappoint.. food was absolutely beautiful, well cooked, presentation good and taste was excellent (we had steaks and chicken burgers). A couple in the group had various starters which were also excellent …. Venue is really nice to.
The Royal Oak – UlverstonWe had a lovely family Sunday lunch in this unique pub run by Grizedale Arts. The locally sourced, home cooked food was enjoyed by all of us. We all agreed that the mix of original 16/17th century features combined with contemporary handmade furniture and artefacts works together well to create a very engaging interior. The staff are friendly and relaxed. Highly recommended.
Farmers Arms – Ulverston2 courses for £24 (roast and pudding).
