fantastic food and excellent service. A jewel on the camel!

The Pickwick Inn and Restaurant – Wadebridge

Some of the dishes are better then others and the level of service/attitude varied. I wouldn't go back in a hurry, although that's difficult as it's the only curry house in the area.

The prices were a bit high but the food was brilliant and up to the standard i expected. The waitresses made me feel welcomed and the quality of wine and food was excellent. I would recommend this place to anyone who is staying around this area.

Very good food, plenty of choice and selection always a lengthy process as everything sounds so wonderful. This is a Pub though and it's prices are rather high so it's a treat rather than your usual Pub meal out.

Recommended by a friend and Boy what a find. Fab menu with plenty of local produce and fresh fish, ate here three times in the week we were in the area and will definitely return. Wonderful food, great service, can't wait to return:)

When you turn up at this restaurant, you think that this cannot be the place that you have heard is well worth a visit. In fact you even start thinking of excuses of why you must leave! But ... when the food starts coming out, you are thankful that you stayed. We thoroughly enjoyed our food and it is amongst the best that we have ever had. Every dish was a delight and we kept laughing at all the noises of enjoyment coming from fellow diners on the next table. We will make the Journeyman a regular visit to try all the dishes.

What a fantastic place to go!! Thank god the new owners know how to be landlords and members of the community well done Gary and Jane. The decor has been transformed and so has the atmosphere no longer shoved up in the family room everyone is made welcome, the place has moved up leaps and bonds and returned to its former glory!! I will return every time I visit no need to shop lol..

Wow Just go here, The restaurant advertises itself as being unique in Cornwall but having travelled a lot it's pretty unique in the UK if not the World! The only place I've been that comes anywhere near here is Cafe Deco in Hong Kong, A great concept, excellent setting with exceptional food, will definitely be going back. Dave

Just happened across the restaurant on a drive, what a find! This place is right up there with The Seafood restaurant in my opinion but at a fraction of the cost. Tandoori yuk sung (the chef's own invention) was delicious as were the mains of chicken achari and nepalese lamb. Very friendly, great atmosphere and what a setting! Thanks for a great night.

Walked here on spec on a Friday night (a bit daft in retrospect) and even though the place was fully booked they bought out another table for us. Food and service was first rate, very friendly informal atmosphere. Chef made a point of talking to my wife who is vegetarian, she ended up with a tandoori mushroom and spinach balti which she loved, my lamb shanks were equally impressive. Have already rebooked for our next visit.

Visited initially following a glowing recommendation in the comments book of the cottage we stayed in, and then again later in the week just to try more of the menu. A very unusual place, a very quaint old mill building (complete with water wheel!) serving what I think after eating has to be the best fusion cooking I've tasted - very rare to find such a diverse menu which is all very authentic. The baltis were superb, the chef individually chatted to us about the heat we required which was a nice touch especially as it was spot on. On the second visit Jules had the beef wellington (ater seeing someone elses on the first visit) she loved it. My Panang duck was very good too. All in all highly recommend a visit we'll certainly be going back first chance we get.

Lovely welcoming pub, recently taken over by new owners which has been for the better!!. The decor is beautiful and compliments the pub better than the awful green that the previous owners had kept. Fantastic food, service was outstanding staff couldn? do enough for you. Definitely will be returning, can recommend to any one as the pub is suitable for any age. They also do quizzes and karaoke and have local bands playing which makes it a perfect and fun filled night out.

I absolutely adore this pub, its staff are extremely capable, polite, chatty and helpful. They were good with the children, and let us choose meals that would accommodate us. I am very glad that we chose this pub to come to on our holiday. We came here once before, but were not impressed at all, but then found out that it had changed ownership, so decided to try it out again. I am so glad we did. I will definitely be returning. The new owners should be proud of their excellent pub!

We visited here on 19th April 2006 and at first thought we had made a mistake. As the evening went on, we realised that this was a very different dining experience and that our first impressions were very wrong. I can't say that I would rush back but Chris and Steve went out of their way to make our visit memorable and I guess I can say that they succeeded. Thanks and good luck to you all there.

This has to be the best-kept "secret" in the Cornwall. I have eaten here so many times because the Blackboard specials change daily and the Steaks and portion sizes are legendary. Chef, Gary and all the staff are really friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Lovely outside seating area in olde worlde courtyard.
