The Olive Tree was recommended to us for our weekend in Wells and we were not disappointed. The food was excellent, I especially enjoyed the scallop starter. The service was also excellent - thank you Leto!

The Olive Tree Restaurant – WellsFirst visit to Goodfellows at 7B. We'd been to its previous premises in the town centre some time ago. Despite being a Friday it wasn't full but this venue's quite abit larger than before. The food remains excellent and the service is good but we did think, once we'd ordered, all the courses came too quickly and we weren't allowed to relax, enjoy the wine and chat. It all felt alittle rushed. Unsure if the kitchen being part of the ground floor dining room works in this particular setting. We appreciate it's because the chef/patron Adam Fellows holds cooking demos and it's a nice place to do so. But it didn't add to the ambience or the intimacy of the place which we appreciated at its old venue. One big plus is no loud intrusive music!
Goodfellows at 7B – WellsGreat food, service and atmosphere.
The Olive Tree Restaurant – WellsMy wife and were visiting Wells for the week and booked the Olive Tree for Sunday lunch. I’m not a great lover of a Sunday lunch but she is but we were not let down. My wife goes the best roast dinner in the world but this came very close to matching it. I had the belly pork which was out of this world. My wife had roast beef but when it came it was a little red which she doesn’t like but the staff took it away and replaced it with beef that was to her liking. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. One of the best roast dinners I have ever had. Lovely restaurant with good ambiance and very friendly staff.
The Olive Tree Restaurant – WellsWe went for a birthday lunch and it was absolutely fabulous. Great service, a glass of bubbly was provided to help the celebration. The hosts were friendly polite and attentive but not intrusive. The food was superb. The chocolate cherry dessert with heavenly chocolate ice cream will be remembered. The setting was lovely. We will definitely return.
Goodfellows at 7B – WellsExcellent, as always
Goodfellows at 7B – WellsWhen You first walk through the door you are greeted by a cosy Dining room and friendly staff. To start you are given complimentary bread which is a lovely surprise, The olive focaccia is amazing. The Menu is a condensed menu that packs a lot of flavour. I had the Gazpazo to start with the crab and there is in my opinion no better way to start a meal. The main I had the selection of seafood which I would highly recommend as a main course, really flavourful and excellently cooked. This restaurant is a must-go when in wells
Goodfellows at 7B – WellsWe had a good table, helpful staff and excellent food even if the 2nd course came a bit quickly for us. Wine list offered nothing from Appelations and was pricey for what it was. The thing I really hate, not only at the Olive Tree but other restaurants, is the automatic addition of a "discretionary" service charge to the bill. The so called "discretion" requires one to ask for it to be removed which causes discomfort. The owners were also the servers and the service only matched the prices but was nothing over and above so why a tip? Be honest, change your prices to include service or, better still, leave it really to the customer discretion We are local and will be back Michael
The Olive Tree Restaurant – WellsAbsolutely excellent. Yet again, the best dining experience by far. Great food, great service, lovely venue. A truly wonderful evening.
Goodfellows at 7B – WellsMet our expectations, great food and excellent service. We will revisit.
The Olive Tree Restaurant – WellsA favourite - time after time and never disappointed - the taster menu provides a wonderful journey through the menu. The best fish, superbly presented, and service excellence. We loved the previous venue and yet 7B surpasses with its intimate setting. A thoroughly recommended dining experience!
Goodfellows at 7B – WellsThroughly enjoyable evening in a lovely setting with excellent service. Fantastic wine too!
Goodfellows at 7B – WellsFood was good but very disappointing service. Staff were young and not very interested in making sure customers had a good experience. The wrong food was brought to us twice. The second time the wrong food was brought to us it was left sitting on the table for a few minutes. We didn't start eating it as the wrong sides had been brought over and we were waiting for the correct ones. We were then told that this food was not for us but for another table (the customers of that table had actually arrived after us). This food was then put in front of the customers who had ordered it and after it had gone downstairs again first. Understandably they did not feel like eating it. The waiter then offered to remake the food and keep the sides warm for them. The couple then informed the waiter they would leave - upon hearing this instead of apologising for the mix up, offering to make everything fresh again and trying to make things right he just leapt to the kitchen to cancel the fresh food order. We were also apologised to but it did not feel at all sincere. I was very disapointed as it seems most diners here have a good experience. The waiting staff really need to be retrained.
The Olive Tree Restaurant – WellsOne of the best meals we have had in a very long time. Will visit the next time we are in the area.
The Olive Tree Restaurant – WellsWhat a gem, food was divine and the service fantastic.
The Olive Tree Restaurant – WellsMeal & service first class . The staff were very pleasant & couldn't do more to make it a very pleasant lunch time meal, also good value for money. The restaurant was also spotless .Will visit again if we go back to Wells that's for sure.
The Olive Tree Restaurant – WellsWe had a lovely Sunday Roast at the Olive Tree on Father’s Day. The best beef we have had in a long time. A nice relaxed atmosphere and very friendly staff.
The Olive Tree Restaurant – WellsFirst visit to The Olive Tree as we are not local. The food and reviews looked really good from the reviews when we were looking for somewhere. The food did not disappoint, was probably one of the best meals I’ve had, duck was cooked perfectly. The service is what let it down, we were seated rather quickly and waiter was friendly, our alcoholic drinks arrived also quickly however the water was slower. We were asked if we wanted desert menus which we asked for however we were forgotten about and after 20 mins my husband had to re ask, then after 10 mins of the waitress not bringing them and carrying bottles we caught her eye and then she brought over one menu and we were told we needed to share where as other tables were given one each. Tables were served before us who had entered after us. It felt as though it was a rush to get us in and provide the starters and mains but after that we were forgotten about. It was also slightly ruined by the couple we were sat next to, as it was a rather small restaurant the tables are close together, there was a couple on a date who clearly had drunk alot and were rather loud along with swearing which ruined a really lovely atmosphere. Overall it was good and I would recommend however the service could have been improved. We had gone for our 10 year wedding anniversary it would have been nice to have been spoken to, to see if we had come out for a special occasion just to make it that extra special and show real passion for the customer
