The Olive Tree Restaurant – WellsA wonderful restaurant for a Sunday roast. Will definitely go back. We were given loads of help choosing both the meal and wine. Well worth the visit.
The Olive Tree Restaurant – WellsFabulous Sunday lunch. Nicest beef we’ve had out in a restaurant. Staff lovely and really friendly. Looking forward to going back.
The Olive Tree Restaurant – WellsI booked in for lunch with my in-laws. It was our first visit and enjoyed the experience very much. Service was attentive and the food was very tasty and beautifully presented. A lovely civilised environment that would be perfect for a special occasion or date night (that's what I'm planning next)! Congratulations all. S
Goodfellows at 7B – WellsWe’ve been dining at Goodfellows ever since their opening, they never fail to impress the “total package” food, wine, ambiance, attentive staff. An excellent evening, we will definitely return yet again.
Goodfellows at 7B – WellsWells is fortunate to have Goodfellows. We loved the welcome, the open kitchen, excellent wine and the tasting menu was superb!
Goodfellows at 7B – WellsWe had the recent pleasure of finding Goodfellows @7b. The service was second to none, our food absolutely delicious especially the tarte au citron Huge shame it's so far from our home but next time we are in the area we will definitely be back. Thank you Goodfellows for a memorable evening.
Goodfellows at 7B – WellsExcellent meals at lunchtime yesterday. We’d booked for two in advance, but as we were on a bus trip to the cathedral , three friends wanted to join us, and the restaurant were able to fit them in. All of us were impressed with our respective dishes; tasty, well presented, and good value for money. The service was superb; friendly and charming. Highly recommended.
The Olive Tree Restaurant – WellsMy wife and I were visitors to Wells and thought we would try Sunday lunch as the feedback was good overall. We both had the roast beef, which was cooked to perfection, lovely and tender and very tasty. Veg was cooked just right i.e. not overcooked, roast potatoes were also just right. I had a portion of cauliflower cheese, which for me could have been a little more chessie, but you can not please everyone with that type of dish. The Sunday lunch is excellent value for money, quality ingredients, cooked to perfection. Service was as it should be, attentive but not over the top. We will be back when we visit Wells again.
The Olive Tree Restaurant – WellsWe went for a meal celebrating my wife's Birthday. We had the tasting menu. It was a wonderful meal. Lovely flavours. Nice bottle of wine. The atmosphere was nice and the service attentive. We will come again and fully recommend this wonderful restaurant.
Goodfellows at 7B – WellsCame here for the first time with my Mum for a Sunday roast. It was lovely. Meat was delicious, vegetables too. Fab size portion. Staff very friendly and helpful.
The Olive Tree Restaurant – WellsThis place is special. We came here to celebrate an anniversary and so we splashed out a bit on three courses. Every dish was a taste sensation! The service was also fantastic. It's not a cheap option, but for a special occasion, it's worth it!
The Olive Tree Restaurant – WellsI wish this was my local. We were staying at a nearby hotel. The staff were informal but very pleasant
The Olive Tree Restaurant – WellsFabulous food, great service snd lovely atmosphere
Goodfellows at 7B – WellsGreat food and ambience! Would definitely visit again if we lived closer, perhaps on our next visit to Wells!!
The Olive Tree Restaurant – WellsHad dinner here last night for the first time. Absolutely gorgeous food and the staff are super helpful and friendly. Definitely recommend this restaurant and I have added this to my special place to go
The Olive Tree Restaurant – WellsAs already referred to it is probably better to go early for Sunday lunch. As a none red meat eater I was going to have the chicken but it had run out and so had the cauliflower cheese and the vegetarian option! I was offered a jerk aubergine which I accepted and it came with rice. I thought I may get some roast potatoes (ie Sunday lunch style) so asked for some and got what was left, 2 small slightly over cooked but tasty roast potatoes. Sadly I can not say this for the aubergine dish, it was not good and I left most of it. My partner had roast beef with all the trimmings and enjoyed it. We also had starters and deserts and both very good. The tables are a little close together but understand maximising the space. Good overall service.
The Olive Tree Restaurant – WellsSuper Sunday lunch! We dined as a couple on the second to last time slot, around 2pm. (this is important) We went straight in for mains but the starter looked great and judging by the empty plate around us, tasted good too. We ate the roast beef and roast pork options. The beef was pink but not bloody and apparently delicious. Noe to share with me! The roast pork belly was just as it should be well cooked (I assume for a very long time) but retaining all the lovely fatty flavour. Veg is veg in my book and it was all cooked to my liking. (Cooked but not soggy). Being a later time, there was no cauliflower cheese left which was a bit of a shame but it did leave space for desert. My advice go early. The only improvement for me would be a little more gravy. We did ask for more and it came promptly but a small amount more on the side at the start would have been great. The deserts we had were, 1 x chocolate brownie, 1 x grilled pineapple both came with accompanying ice creams and sauces. My choice was the pineapple and I expected it to be a warm and grilled. It may have shown a hot plate briefly but the was no charring and now heat. I think this would have lifted the dish but it was pleasant enough. The staff and great and attentive, if a little forgetful sometime ;-)
