Wonderful Sunday lunch on one of the wettest days on record, so glad we made the effort! Extremely tasty cured trout starter, exceptionally tender roast beef with trimmings and although it wasn’t listed staff were happy to provide cinnamon ice cream (which wasn’t actually needed but was delicious!) for dessert. Very friendly and professional staff - well done!
The Olive Tree Restaurant – WellsSoup was a little slow to arrive (how much prep do you need?) but good. Affogato disappointing. The coffee was too weak. Needed a good double shot of strong espresso. Service OK, but Madame could have been friendlier. Good value for money but we are used to London prices!

The restaurant, unsurprisingly was full with everyone enjoying an eclectic, stunning, delightful lunch at an extremely reasonable price. The wine is astonishingly good too. The entire team is gifted, warm, know exactly the right atmosphere to create & it is always a joy to join them for lunch. 120 mile round trip may sound a bit crazy but it ALWAYS worth it. Food was excellent prompt friendly service . Have been here a couple of times and will definitely be one of our regular eateries.x

Goodfellows at 7B – WellsWe have just moved to Wells and booked the Olive Tree on our first night as it came with glowing reviews and we weren’t disappointed. A lovely venue with friendly staff and a great ambience. But, what really makes this place is the food. It is simple outstanding. Deliciously tasty, fresh and a great menu which leaves you struggling to decide what to eat as everything sounds fantastic! Oddly for us we went a bit fish crazy that night and had scallops and salmon to start and some fabulous Hake and Sea bass served with a side of chimichurri green beans for main. The crème brûlée and chocolate marquise for pudding were to die for. All of this was rounded off by a delicious petit Chablis and a lovely chat with the assistant manager, Louise, who was very friendly and accommodating and couldn’t have looked after us better. Great place, we WILL be back.

My partner’s cassoulet was tasty if not a huge portion; I thought my vegetarian/vegan barley risotto needed a bit more seasoning (maybe offer non-vegans cheese?) but was a decent portion. The restaurant itself is lovely too - the street view doesn’t do it justice.
