had a really good meal last time we visited this restaurant.food excellent. back there again this week.

We visited Sugo for the first time last night with our two children (9 & 3) and had a thoroughly enjoyable evening with fantastic freshly-prepared food and friendly attentive service from an Armenian waitress who listened to my partner's specific needs. The restaurant was relatively quiet compared to it's sister restaurant, Cappanina in Bury. which we frequent often. The menu is identical being printed for all four restaurants whose details appear on the reverse - there is only Zio in Nelson that we haven't yet visited and are unlikely to because of the distance. The food was truly excellent and for once both children finished their meals which enabled us to enjoy our own three courses accompanied by a bottle of Sardinian grenache or Cannonau as it labelled. We shall definitely be returning as although it the menu and decor are virtually indistinguishable from the closer Cappanina it was a winner with the children - possibly due to the little red Fiat filled with wine bottles in the centre of the room!

Frequented this restaurant a few years ago when it was Danielis - and towards the end it was DIRE!! I went to Sugo a couple of days ago with some friends just to try it out under new ownership!! WOW!! What a difference! Staff who were truly interested in us and our needs! Food that was superb!! We will most definitely be returning again - many times.

What a lovely little independent cafe this is! I think the lady who runs it is call Marina, and her food is fresh and delicious. I often go in their with my staff if we want to have an informal meeting over a coffee and danish. It is also the place to go for a delicious, fresh panini for lunch! Five Star ***** !!

Went to Ambiente last night. Will NOT be returning. Food was ok, nothing special. Plates were hot, but food was lukewarm. The worst was trying to get a drink, waited 45 minutes for a glass of wine! The rest of our party waited 35 minutes for mojitos. In a period of 3 hours we manged to get 2 drinks. Not great service, seemed like the staff really did not want to be there or be bothered. All in all not a good experience, and that a real shame!

Not been to the John Gilbert before but friend told me about it.Great atmosphere on a Fri/Sat (one of the Corrie lot was in) had a meal with family Great Sunday Carvery making it a must for Mothers Day as getting booked up.

We were in the restaurant Sat 13th Feb 2009. Service was one of the worst I have known. We waited 30mins for wine and over an hour for food. Its a shame as the food was really good once we finally got. If they can't cope with high numbers then they shouldn't take the bookings !!! Staff were not on the ball at all and badly managed !!

Four of us ordered bread, olives, tapas to start and 2 mains to share. A mixed experience, some of the tapas were very good and tasty (gambas, lamb), but the portions were tiny and the prices high. The paella was £15.95 and poor value, also overcooked. Our other main dish was the duck, for £15 we got a very small portion. We ended up being quite irritated with the number of staff who kept coming round asking if we were OK and whether we wanted more drinks - and also they made some mistakes with our order. Have been to better tapas places, won't be returning.

After being recommended from a friend we were more than impressed with Ambiente last night. The food was devine, more fine dining than the usual tapas. We shared a couple of tapas to start & then moved on to the raciones. Whilst all the dishes were very flavoursome & beautifully presented, I can not recommend the filletitos highly enough. We then hit the bar & spent the rest of the night annoying (many) fabulous cocktails. A truly great little find. Thanks guys.

I ate last Saturday night at ambiente, and i can only say that it was a truly memorable experience, the food was fantastic, and the service matched the food, i will be going again soon and can only recommend you try this ten out of ten keep up the good work

i ate at ambiente restaurant on Saturday evening , first impressions were great and to say the food was divine, and the service was great all round the best Spanish restaurant in Manchester by far good work keep it up

Really excellent food at sugos and a good, reasonably priced wine list... try the pasta with spicy sausages (fusilli al diavolo) - it is gorgeous and so are the mushrooms with chillis starter (funghi di bosco) - which is enough to share between 2 of you. Best garlic bread i've ever had too. the decor is lovely and modern and the place is ideal for a cosy night out for 2 or for a group

We recently dined at the john gilbert and lovers of frozen food will be delighted with the fare.

Sugo is without doubt a fantastic local restaurant.The service and food are first class. Bee and Phil are always on hand to ensure that everything runs smoothly. We have been on a number of occasions and look forward to our next visit

i have just eaten at the john gilbert. its the first time in ages i have eaten there. it was really nice i had a lovely combination of ham chicken olives chutneys and rustic bread etc etc my husband had the carvery dinner it cost £15.50 for two which i think is good value would certainly go again

I definitely recommend a visit to Sugos. After dining in the restaurant when it was Daniellis I enjoyed the food, however I feel there has been much improvement since the relaunch, from the decor which is fab to the friendly and attentive staff. The food continues to impress, especially the specials menu which usually leaves us all spoilt for choice!! Definitely give it a try!

First impressions of Ambiente were good, the restaurant itself authentically decorated and quite comfortable. The staff are polite and friendly. There are plenty of corners to sit and there is a warm fire place too. The tapas served were very nice, we also ordered the meat Paella. The Chorizo tapas was excellent. I thought the paella was average and I've had better at other restaurants, although I like mine with a bit of crispy rice which isn't to everybody's taste. The only downside to the restaurant was the price, at least £15 for 1 portion of Paella. The prices had since gone up, which are different from the website menus.
