A great hotel in the lovely village of Helmsley. We were lucky with the weather and as a result it felt like we were in Southern France. The outdoor pool and spa excellent. We ate in the Weathervane restaurant which was excellent. Beef, trout, seabass and soup all marvellous. highly recommended.
Feversham Arms Hotel and Verbena Spa – YorkRecently refurbished bathrooms and floors made wheelchair access better than the old carpet. Food and service as good as ever.
Maxis – YorkStarters were amazing. The mains were a little disappointing. The chicken was slimey. And did not really enjoy the chicken with sweetcorn. Shane really as it was a birthday meal.

Maxis – YorkA cool contemporary Italian restaurant in the main square of Helmsley. We had two quality pizzas and a lovely hoppy beer. Unusual for an Italian restaurant to allow dogs but they do!
La Trattoria Helmsley – YorkGorgeous cakes in an old restored vinery. Great location in a lovely tourist town.
Helmsley Walled Garden Cafe – YorkFrom the moment we drove into Helmsley town square we were happy, seeing The Black Swan ahead, picturesque right by the churchyard. A gorgeous market town and hotel! We had a perfect room overlooking the square. Dined in the restaurant and we were suitably impressed with the food, service and the cheeseboard. Trout, Seabass and the cheese for me all professionally served by a very friendly team, they made my 7 yr old very welcome indeed. The BaaBaa beer was great in the bar and the hotel recommended some excellent local walks to work it all off. A highly recommended 2 day break. Oh and if you have a dog then this place will make the beast and you very happy. Treats galore, bowls and blankets in the room!
Black Swan Hotel – YorkLove the food the hot and sour soup is amazing . All the food fresh and hot . Never had a bad service or food . Love it so much off again today . So looking forward to another great dining experience.

The Feversham Arms is hidden away behind the old church in Helmsley and has been modernised in fine style with a showcase spa and outdoor heated pool. We had a beautiful meal here, great ambience and very accomplished cooking.
