This pub has been going from strength to strength for a while now, one of the best real pubs in Leeds. Food is alway good quality and a lovely friendly atmosphere, easy going, genuinely friendly staff, no put on smiles here they oose friendliness. As if they have known you for a while rather than just met you. Very impressed.

Fantastic describes this restaurant. The young staff were very welcoming and service delightful in the full restaurant. We had an outstanding meal and everything was beautifully presented. The chef came out from the kitchen to ensure all the customers were happy with their choice of food and the dining experience was one of the highlights of our few days holiday in York. Dont miss it, but do book a table, they could not accommodate us on the Tuesday evening when we went the first time

My husband and I came across this bar whilst wandering the streets of york. It is only a couple of minutes from The Minster. Its an amazing bar with several floors and an outdoor heated patio area. We returned each night and there was always something going on, quiz night, singers, etc. Everyone was very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. I would definately recommend anyone going to York to pop in for drink or food.

this place I don’t really like to tell anyone about(because i want it for myself) but they deserve to be recommended as the food is outstanding and i believe as close to real home style cooking as you will get amazing go try saffron Desi

saffron desi york wow if you like a real curry you must try this place the nans are as big as my nan ha ha im not kidding they are huge this is a must try as the food is great and so is all the staff

I often go to this restaurant with my partner and every time we go we are very satisfied by the delicious 3 course meal we have, the fantastic, friendly service and the great (cheap!) cost. I advise all of you out there to try the amazing chocolate glory dessert - what a way to finish your perfect meal. Treat Yourself!

Went upstairs to this restaurant one Sunday evening in June. We were enticed in by the "Authentic Chinese" claim in the front window. After being some what dubious we were both very surprised at the quality of the food that came out from the kitchen. Coming from Australia we have had some excellent asian food in the past and this was right up there. The food takes a little longer to get to you but it is fully worth it! They have only just started cooking Chinese at the premises, prior to this it was standard pub fare, fantastic spicy sichuan Chinese food from a great young chef. The Habit are on to a winner we believe...

myself and my boyfriend recently enjoyed a weekend in York and booked this place (formerly known as 'kites')it is in a lovely part of the city, very central. the food was fantastic so credit to the chef and we were looked after very well.if possible you should ask for the snug which is a separate table behind some drapes which makes it different and quite romantic! really lovely place, would definitely have no problem in recommending it. only slight issue-couldn't resist starters and mains so unable to sample desserts. they too sounded delicious so if you're into things sugary be sure to leave enough room! enjoy

After ages trying to find somewhere to have a nice meal we stumbled across The Windmill. As soon as we drove up i had a good feeling about the place and i was proven right. The hotel is surprisingly large, clean and very inviting. The bar staff were polite and helpful in choosing the right wine for us. After sitting outside in the lovely large garden we went and sat in the conservatory for our meal. I am quite a fussy eater and only ever order steak pie which i did on this occasion and i have to say it was deliciously rich and tasty. The rest of my family all ordered something different and it all looked that nice i tried a mouthful of all of theirs and couldn’t get over how gorgeous each meal was. Then it was time for desserts with no less than 18 to choose from. The waitress described all the ones we asked about very clearly to help us make up our mind and we were all blown away as they were all totally scrumptious. The staff were all so friendly the atmosphere was very relaxed the prices were perfect. I would not only recommend The Windmill to would be diners but i would urge you all to make a visit. Oh - before i forget - you cannot leave The Windmill until you have sampled the millionaires cheesecake mmmmmmmmm. this restaurant has been turned around dramatically we used to dine here when it was known as the jinnah we understand the Bradford based saffron desi has taken over and what a job they have done the restaurant is contemporary beautifully lit and the food is great the best we have had in a long time

we dined here last week what a surprise the naan breads are huge and the food is first class all the staff are friendly and very welcoming

We went to the saffron desi at york and were pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food and surroundings. The staff were very polite and courteous and the food was outstanding. Definately would recommend to anyone wanting a pleasant evening and wonderful food and service.

I often eat out in York and have found the Living Room the best in town. The food is superb, the service is friendly and efficient and the cocktails are fab! I would highly recommend this Cocktail Bar/Restaurant to all!

Offer an excellent value lunchtime menu, or you can choose from a selection of fabulous specials.Great food, all very delicious, and with special touches including homemade lavender or chocolate bread to start.Wonderful service and a fantastic atmosphere, are definitely going back!

I love the food at this place! i have eaten here a number of times and and each time the food has been excellent! The Calzone pizza is fantastic not to mention huge! the pasta dishes are lovely and the steak is beautiful. I always have melon & parma ham for staters, which although a little expensive for a starter is very much worth it as you get a full plate and is presented so well, like all the dishes. It really is hard to choose what to have off the menu! the service is generally very good but have had to wait a while on occasions for drinks. The restaurant is very clean and their is a nice atmosphere, but booking is a must as it gets very busy.
