We came on a quiet Wednesday afternoon. We brought our dog. What a wonderful venue. Sublime food. Uncluttered but varied menu. Professional, courteous and cheerful service. The prices are very realistic given the superb quality, portion size and presentation of the food. Out of 10 I would personally give it full marks.

Lovely food and lovely setting quality food.

We enjoyed our meal and the starter for two was enormous, a very nice venue. Would go again bit pricey but worth it.

Never done a review before but was so disappointed I feel I have to say something. High end prices but it's a pub! A three course meal would cost around £25 to £30 without any drinks. At the table next to us they had dogs under the table!! How is that compatible with serving food? I had the fish pie which was ok, nothing special. The worst thing though was the smell of woodsmoke. I don't know whether it was an open fire or a wood burner but the place stank. When I got home my clothes also stank and my new coat will have to be cleaned to get the smell out. Not happy! Won't be going back. There are some super restaurants in Southport where I can pay those prices but in a high end establishment and lots of great pubs that serve great food at half the price.

The refurbishment of the establishment has been tastefully completed, the interior is cosy and inviting. I loved the box of reading glasses on the bar! The staff were both friendly and helpful. Unfortunately our lunchtime visit was spoiled by the kitchen having run out of steak. The board outside also suffered from a few too many apostrophes.
