Great food and service. Both Italian and Indian cuisine are of the highest quality. Highly recommend. Need better signage to let people know that your there though. I have been using the travelodge for a couple of years now and only just found out that your tucked in the corner. Looking forward to coming back

Don't visit Birmingham often, found this through Sugarvine and cant say we were disappointed, the staff were very attentive but not bothersome, and even put us in the quite room for some privacy rather than the main dining area, the food was fantastic even if I wasn’t adventurous enough and when for my usual Penn meat balls, but i have to say that my meal was topped of nicely with vanilla ice cream on crepes with plenty of lemon and sugar, beautiful well done to all involved see you again soon hopefully.

I decided to try Valentino's Credit Crunch Menu. It was well worth it. I had risotto for my starter and and fillet of Plaice for my main course. I even had a tasty dish of Tiramisu all washed down with a very tasty free glass of wine, all for£14.95. I Felt as if I'd been out for a very expensive meal and felt very satisfied !!! Thanks valentino's

My husband and i have eaten here a number of times and have always been delighted with the service and welcome given. Staff always happy to suggest something different if you just fancy a change from your usual preferences. It is a reasonably priced Asian restaurant. The food is very tasty and the portions are generous. It's also suitable for families with children and for that special birthday party or other special occasions. The decor is excellent as its now under new management and newly refurbished. The food was very tasty and unique, every curry tasted different and fresh, along with a pleasant atmosphere. Well worth what we paid. Will most definitely visit again!! Highly recommend...

AVOID !!!!!!!!! A terrible attitude from the manageress towards vegetarians and particularly vegetarian children. We had went in, looked at the selection and decided that there was not enough veggie choice. As we were leaving a waiter asked us to stay and he would 'see what he could do' so we thought, 'ok, fine', let's stay and ordered drinks. When i looked more closely at the foods they did not even have plain noodles or fried noodles and i enquired if it was possible to have just plain or fried noodles as my veggie kids are too young for spicy food. The ill mannered manageress started making a scene as if we were being fussy, i tried to explain what the waiter had said, but she just started shouting. My wife was embarrassed at the ridiculous hand waving scene that the manageress was making and so my wife just wanted to leave. The manageress insisted that we pay for our drinks which had just arrived at our table. Plain noodles was obviously beyond their abilities (despite the fact that we pay full price and eat no meat/fish). So i paid for our drinks (which we did not even sip) and left. I sent a letter of complaint but got no reply. My strongest advice would be to avoid this place and go to Modern China, a hugely better buffet and the management is far far superior, they not only do fried noodles as standard, but actually asked us if we wanted the chef to make us a veggie curry, no extra charge. This is our regular place now and the decor&ambience is superb and amazingly is cheaper than Buffet Island. GIVE IT A WIDE BERTH IF YOU ARE VEGGIE OR LIKE GOOD SERVICE

Had a fantastic meal last Friday. As a restaurant owner myself, who no longer lives in Birmingham, I asked around for a recommendation and found the spice merchants. We had a one year old with us and the staff provided a high chair and plastic tub for rice and could not have been more obliging. There were dishes that stood above the usual Balti selections such as vegetable Sambar, Lamb Gulbarg and a ' Gourmets choice' of sizzling meats from the oven. The chili fish had a deep and flavoursome chili burn. The food was not too oily and well presented by friendly staff. The menu also offers a chefs speciality which is a welcome addition to often formulaic Indian menus and there were interesting kashmiri specialities too. Can't wait to return and this restaurant provides more evidence that Kings Heath is an up and coming area to dine in. James Taylor, Owner Chantek Restaurant, Truro, Cornwall

This is one of the best Indian restaurant around the city centre for eating vegetarian food (sorry can't comment on non vegetarian as i am a pure veggie eater). There preparation is great, and is highly authentic Indian, and they adjust to your taste the spices if you tell them so. I have been to this restaurant at least 50 times, and everytime there was smile on my face when i went out, very warm staff.

Service was OK but the food was less than average - due in part, I suspect, to the amount of time the chef seemed to spend outside the kitchen talking to everyone present rather than actually cooking!

WOW!!!!! The food is amazing, the service is excellent and not over powering, very comfortable restaurant. The prawn crackers with a bit of chilli oil on....mmmmmm Salt and Chilli Ribs.....Amazing!!! Singapore Noodles.....i could live on these!! I think I will!! Sweet and sour Prawn balls to die for. The food is the best I have ever tasted anywhere and is becoming my absolute favourite to Indian and Pizza (which I love), I think there is no comparison. 18/10 Overall 20/10 Food 9.5/10 Service Fabulous, give them a try!! You wont be disappointed

I really enjoyed my meal at Woks Hall on New Years Eve. They really made it special, and we had a great laugh. Best Chinese restaurant that I have been to. Staff there are fantastic.

This is an absolutely beautiful Indian restaurant and one I have been coming to since it opened. I have never had a disappointing meal and one of my friends comes all the way from Lichfield to sample its delights. So it's with regret that I experienced something the last few times I have been that has put me off. Perhaps success breeds contempt or complacency or maybe they were just too plain busy to bother? But the surliness of the waiters and their brusque unfriendly manner is no longer something I can put down to an off day.

This restaurant is the magic fairy secret of Kings heath. You wouldn't know it was here but go through the "magic garden" and you come across a lovely warm and well presented restaurant selling the finest organic produce. I've had several meals here and one Christmas one. They have all been to a good standard. The problem is the portion sizes which are a bit on the mean side to be honest in ratio to the cost. I know I know it's the quality of the grub that counts but give me a bit more next time please.

This could be an absolutely brilliant Indian restaurant and until recently it was one of our favorites. Usually the meals are lovely but: be prepared to pay for your poppadoms (in addition to your starter) which they don't tell you about in advance and whatever you do don't order anything mild or described as the masala because unfortunately it comes out with a bright vivid colour and (literally) the sweetness of syrup. I'm afraid that one of my friends made such a mistake and had to send the meal back although to their credit he was provided with an alternative meal at no extra cost. Well presented restaurant with excellent service but they'll have to do something about those sweeter than sweet currys!

Cafe Champagnes – Wolverhampton

I often eat at buffet island (about once a month) with my girlfriend and it never fails to please! Of all the buffets in the area, e.g. star city's flame and modern china, buffet island is the best. All the food is delicious with a fantastic range for all appetites. The staff are welcoming and the service is good without it being pushy. The price is a bargain bearing in mind what you can have - sushi, ready made chow mein, pancakes and thirty other dishes. I love this place and would recommend it strongly.
