Originally went to try Nepalese food so was a little disappointed that most of the menu was more Indian. However, the food and service were both excellent. I would definitely go again and have I recommended it to all my friends. The Nepalese dishes I tried were excellent. It's not the cheapest place so I wouldn't be able to go there very often unfortunately but I will go for special occasions.

This restaurant is in Hollywood, not Kings Norton really. We regularly frequent this and have always been absolutely delighted by the amazing food and service. This is not a place where you come away from hungry, the quality is 5 star and portions great. I can honestly say this is the best Indian restaurant in Birmingham. Would highly recommend.

Ive been here once before about a year ago and had a great experience, so I thought id give it another try. On the outside this place looks quite run down compared to the other restaurants along ladypool road. The decor is old and reminiscent of a 1980's type indian restaurant. This I think adds to the prestige of the place, no nonsense and to the point- the food does the talking. We entered and found the service to be warm and welcoming- poppadoms placed immediately at the table - mint sauce and spicy onions, I would have liked mango chutney also which was not provided. no matter i asked the waiter what the "signature chicken dish" was and he recommended chicken methi, so i ordered this along with naan bread and also mango lassi- a traditional Indian yoghurt drink. Fabulous!!! The chicken methi was magical- chicken was soft and tender and the spices etc had a fantastic aftertaste, tickling the tastebuds. good portion sizes and the jug of mango lassi was the best ive ever had- magical. i thought the naan bread could have been better, as it was a little thick and dry but no matter. the bill was very reasonable indeed worked out at around nine quid a head. I think this place is brilliant, certainly the food is far superior to some of the more trendier restaurants in town (believe me ive tried all of them Ithiaas, Cafe Lazeez, shimla pinks, blue mango) and i would say though that with all the new contemporary restaurants out there with there fancy decor, lights, plasma screens etc, it was actually a positive to be in an "old school" environment. The chef also came and greeted us- which was nice I would therefore thoroughly recommend this place- I know now where my local curry house is. oh and extra bonus- you can bring your own booze

Casa Italia

A fantastic choice on the menu - need to go back weekly to plough through all the "must have"s. Lots of fish dishes, chicken dishes as well as all the usual pasta/risotto dishes. Definitely the most excellent garlic bread you'll probably ever taste.

I've been going to Azims for years now, usually after a night out with family. The staff are friendly, and its quiet, relaxed atmosphere makes it ideal for talking with family and friends, enjoying good food.

I love the guys who work in Pizza by Goli. I've been going there for birthdays and celebrations with my friends for nearly two years and the guys have never failed to make me laugh and have a good time. They're wonderful, friendly people and the food is brilliant. It's definitely my Number 1 place to go if you're having a birthday meal or just generally out to socialize. Love the place especially the people!

Nice tapas but no main meal such as Paella. A basket of toasted baguette (one) at £2.50 was quite extortionate. We ended up spending £12.50 on bread! for four people. Beware.

Love the food in the Diwan, could never fault it. Jean.

It is always a pleasure eating here. The owner, Umberto, is very lively and friendly. He often arranges themed evenings which are always good fun. His brother Renato, he of Renee and Renato, sometimes sings here. The food is always amazing. It may seem pricey but the cost of the mains includes mixed vegetables and potatoes. The cost of the bill is usually lower than other Italian restaurants as you can bring your own wine.

After visiting my Tarot reader in Moseley, I was starving, not knowing Moseley I asked the clairvoyant where I could go, she recommended the Diwan just around the corner. I wasn't expecting anything wonderful, but what a surprise, it was one of the best I have ever eaten in. I come from France and we are known for our critical view of food, there is nothing to criticize in the Diwan, the food was first class. Jacque. Coventry.

The Diwan is one of the best restaurants I have eaten in, and I have tried them all, not just here in Birmingham but also in other countries including Egypt. The service is excellent and the staff are very polite and friendly. I would recommend the Diwan to all my friends and colleagues. You have to try the lamb rogan josh, and also the vegetarian dishes, they are mouth watering. Patricia, Moseley, Birmingham.

I've been four times now and each time was exceptional. The menu is fresh and exciting and everything I've tried has been fantastic. The house wine is also great for the money which is rare for an Indian restaurant. Cannot rate this place highly enough.

After recent renovation and expansion Elachi has come to a fantastic shape for big accommodation with enough parking. Limousine service has been increased with new car additions. Leather seats, Elephant decoration, small water fall, free bottle of sparking Perrier, kitchen entrance facility, friendly service from waiters and its owner Mr. Sharif attracts me again and again. Their Bulti item is my favorite dish for the weekend for me and my family.

Out of lots of restaurants to choose from in the area this is one of the better ones, the food is exceptional, an its lovely to see the same faces serving you even when you drop by after 6 months. Its a very family orientated place; my kids love the Tikka Masala.

Pleasant surroundings and helpful staff. What did let it down was that the carvery is open all day and the vegetables appeared to have been on the hotplate for a long time and were not at their best
