fantastic decor, very contemporary and opulant, loved the photos on the back of the chairs. good position by the water, lower level of mailbox.just the right amount of choice of food, often at oriental restaurants there is too much to choose from. portion sizes just right.food presented very well and was really very good. service was friendly and really enjoyed spending time there.

As the most local place to us we have visited The Cock on several occasions so it's worth revisiting. In the middle of Wishaw, I would definitely recommend you book otherwise you might just be left with a 9.30 sitting. The food is typical gastropub fare, fragrant risottos, fat steaks and tasty pizzas. Food is consistently very good with the risotto and steaks being a must although the service can sometimes be a little slow. Highly recommended and whilst pizzas and pastas are good value the steaks on a par price wise with city centre restaurants.

I've taken my family here many times in the past 10 years, the service is excellent, the food is plentiful, and never fails to please, with a wonderful choice of menu. We'll keep going again, great for that special treat.

My wife and I go here at least once a week (sometimes more) and Sam makes us feel at home and part of the family. The food is excellent, as is the service and I would recommend it to anyone who likes good Cantonese cooking at its best. Bring your own wine or beer.

This restaurant must rank along side the best in Birmingham. It offers a wide variety of choice, the food is cooked to perfection, there is plenty of choice and it tastes delicious. If a restaurant is fully booked mid week that should tell you how popular it is. I recommend a visit and then take your friends over and over again!

The food is amazing, the people are very friendly and welcoming and the service is brilliant. I would recommend the Chicken Makkani and the Chicken Tikka with fried onions! Lovely restaurant!

In the door, off the waterfront — Mailbox — Level 7 — between Penny Black’s and the new Don Salvo’s at Fino. An eclectic décor. Rumour has it there’s a refurb on the way. It’s easy to settle in here. Lunch time — Dim Sum is the way to go at this time of day. I kicked off with Tom Yam Kung — a hot, spicy, sour Thai soup — followed by Udang prawns with captivatingly aromatic curry leaves. Roti Canni — my last dish — is a Malaysian curry you eat with crisped roti. Quantity can’t substitute for quality. Staff were spot on. Had a light touch. And Allad, the manager, saw to it that we had our mint imperials at the end.

I love this place! Go there fairly regular and am never disappointed by the food! Only thing that usually lets this place down is the service - bit slow sometimes, but if you're not in a rush, then its great!

A curry house with a twist - excellent non traditional decor combined with top notch food and excellent and attentive service. Highly recommended for that slightly different Indian experience in a convenient location at an affordable price.

This is a very reasonably priced Asian restaurant. The food is very tasty and the portions are generous. The staff are very welcoming and the service is excellent. It's also suitable for families with children. The decor is a little dated but the ambience is great.

i have found the cyprus fishbar to be both cheap and exquisite food... it really harvests the taste of the traditional dish with an extra something which just adds to the experience and i would not eat from any other retailer

It's been a while since I visited the Rajdoot - in fact I hadn't visited the new premises at all; but upon stepping into the luxuriously appointed foyer it was like meeting up with an old friend. There were seven of us - a mixture of adults and children all hot and bothered after a busy day shopping; the children were hungry and the adults ravenous. We were soon settled into the waiting area to peruse the menu and nibble on some marvellous indian crispy things - very moorish! The air conditioning soon cooled us down and before we knew it we were seated and the poppadums and salad were served. Now I used to swear that the besat mint sauce in Birmingham was always to be found at The Maharaja in Hurst Street - it could be that The Doot has equalled it if not surpassed it. Starters are always a good indicator of whats to come; our starters were exquisitely prepared and presented. Top quality ingredients and just enough to leave you wanting more - always a good sign. We went overboard with our main course. There were 7 of us and we ordered 8 main courses plus 4 vegetable dishes plus 4 rice and 4 naan - I did say we were ravenous! - you know what? - every morsel was eaten and the juices mopped up with the breads! This was an experience - the decor the atmosphere and above all the quality of the food really does make for something outstanding. One of my guests was from Plymouth and hadn't been to a Birmingham Restauranbt before - he went away a happy man! Well done Rajdoot and keep up the great work

4 of us visited Simpson? for my wife's birthday on Saturday 15th July 2006.We were met by a French lady who was delightful and showed us through to the lounge area. We were offered drinks and then chose from the menu. For a Michelin star restaurant the menu is varied, not extensive but covers many different aspects of meats and fish. We were sat in the conservatory area as this was where the larger tables were. Service was professional, prompt and very informative explaining what each dish consisted of. I had the sweetbreads of veal followed by the venison and then chocolate croquettes with coconut tapioca. All very nice. I mentioned to the waiter following the main that the they could have been more generous on the venison. He said he would mention it to the chef. But I heard no more. The chocolate croquettes were dry and uninteresting. But I am really picking faults but surely we should be as it is supposed to be one of the best. Later we had petit fours in the lounge area with our coffee and not only that they had remembered my wife's birthday with it piped on the plate in chocolate. A lovely place, a lovely night. We shall return.

This is by far the best Chinese restaurant in Birmingham, and believe us we have probably tried them all! The service time is always excellent with very pleasant staff always! If you are visiting Birmingham I strongly recommend you use this restaurant.

The black peppered sirloin was outstanding. The restaurant doesn? look that appealing but the food is definitely worth a visit.
