lovely home cooked dinner have recommended it to other family members

A very welcoming restaurant that made me and my children very welcome, especially my youngest at 10 years old. The food was very nice indeed and it was great to see it being prepared in the kitchen before being served. The house red was lovely and the meals were very well sized indeed. Will defo go again when over that way.

Service given restaurant was empty was a bit slow. Waiter did not write down or read back order which always leaves me worried. Ordered 3 starters to share, but got brought two with no explanation that the other was coming. Starters were all excellent. Mains were good but very dry as not much sauce. Mine was had lots of cardamom which was not on the description and I'm not very fond of it.

Food was great as usual when we came as a family of four for dinner on Saturday evening. However the service felt rushed, with a lack of the usual charm and attention to detail. Left us feeling a little disappointed. Especially as it was a family night out for our sons birthday.

Fantastic fresh food (I could just about hear my lamb chops sizzling in the kitchen) and always something new to tempt the taste buds; I still remember the Christmas pudding ice-cream mmmm! Always a warm welcome and friendly attentive service. in this cosy pub which has been a favourite of mine for several years. An out door area with occasional table makes a great place to take your drinks on a warm summers evening.

First-time visit for son’s 18th birthday. Food was cooked to perfection and extensive menu included some unusual specials. Good service, would recommend.

Very good food can't fault the place

We were recommended this place for carvery/food so we booked for fathers day. Unfortunately we have had better carveries elsewhere cheaper. We felt the food was cold by the time you walked from hot counter to table and the atmosphere was so loud, not due to the music as there weren't any but as all crowded into a small space to eat in. So squished constantly hitting table next to us in and out chairs. The staff were friendly, maybe too friendly as we were asked many times by different members within 5mins apart "is everything okay" i understand it is good to make sure customers are happy but communicate between the team if have already asked that table. The beef was over done and chewy. There were no allergy advice on the dessert menu and had to ask the staff to ask chef but they took the information i said wrong and had to go back to check again. The only thing we were impressed about were the size of the desserts. There was a christening booked as a marquee outside so no room for guests to use the play area as well as the marquee guests. unfortunately we will not be going back.

Great service and always yummy food

My first time here. I have often seen it as I am a regular at Mocha (a nearby café also superb). The service, food and welcome were all excellent. I can't recommend it highly enough.

Fabulous meal, great welcome and service, lovely to have the option of delicious fresh fish and seafood dishes on the menu. The halibut with the gnocchi in basil pesto butter sauce was delicious and a very generous portion size too. Nice to find somewhere that does high quality good without the high price tag. Also love the option that you can just have one scoop of ice-cream if that’s all you have room for. Excellent value for money. Look forward to a return visit to try something else of the menu.

Three of us met for a late lunch last Friday. We were welcomed and treated very well throughout our visit. The food and drink were excellent and I have no hesitation in recommending The Vine to any of my friends.
