As ever ... a warm welcome ... amazing food ... friendly and efficient service! A perfect evening out in Wells!

There was a few things that could have been improved, we had to ask for pre dinner drinks as they weren’t offered and our starters came quickly before we had time to finish them, we also had to ask for the wine glasses for our wine , my salmon starter was quite bland and needed seasoning ( none on the table) and my husband’s was uneventful with just some Italian ham draped over some rocket. The kitchen is open to the restaurant which got very smoky and our clothes ended up smelling of food. The main course was good and staff were friendly, I thought it was a bit expensive for what it was.

Excellent food, excellent service, and always a warm welcome from Martine, Adam, Renaud, and all the staff. Goodfellows is by far our favourite place to eat, and have visited many, many times over 15 years. As we always say - it is the best food we have ever had.

We have been dining and lunching (and at least one breakfast!) since it opened. Yesterday lunch well up to scratch with great menu, excellent service, beautifully cooked and presented. The hake was a dream. Thanks to Adam , Martine and staff.

So much improved compared with pre Covid. Four of really enjoyed our dinner - food was up to French standards, service calm and efficient, reasonable choice of wine and for England the price was good.

Four of us enjoyed the Fish of the Day lunchtime menu on Saturday during a visit to Wells. The chargrilled hake with mushrooms and parsnip puree with a truffle sauce was delicious as was the mango mousse. A special dining experience. Thank you Adam and Martine. We look forward to our next visit.

My husband and I discovered Goodfellows back in 2006 when we moved to this beautiful part of Somerset. The meals have always been fantastic, we have never been disappointed, in fact, the food always exceeds our expectations, as does the warm welcome we receive from chef/owner Martine, Adam and their fabulous front of house team. We are a family of foodies who enjoy cooking and entertaining in our own home, so often we are disappointed when we dine out – but never at Goodfellows. Beautiful fresh produce, fabulous fish, sensational Asian hot duck etc .. and an imaginative creative chef, who always seems happy to ‘tweak’ for dietary/special tastes, the open kitchen is a delight to see. Many memorable courses have been savoured here - we cannot recommend Goodfellows enough.

Had 2 meals - lunch and a dinner. Both were excellant. Wish we lived nearer!Best meal in Wells.

I ate at Goodfellows as I was staying in Wells for one night en route from Cornwall. Exceptional food, delicious crayfish starter and the lamb rump for the main course was probably best lamb I have eaten. Faultless
