The cooking is much better than most Michelin * restaurants. Adam is an outstanding chef and it has been a pleasure to eat in his restaurant for many years. Easily the best restaurant in Somerset and probably the South West. Happy Christmas

We had lunch here two days before Christmas (three older members). We had 2-3 courses each. The fishy starters were excellent. For mains, two of us had the sea bass and one of us the turkey. Two shared a dessert of a chocolate cup with Christmas pudding ice cream. There were other witty seasonal touches like cranberry as part of the fish dishes. Service was good, and altogether a very fine meal.

Fabulous Sunday lunch. The best pork & pork crackling I have ever had out. My husband chose the scallops as a main. They were cooked to perfection with an accompaniment of baby samphire & homemade ravioli. Beautifully presented food & friendly attentive service Can’t wait to go back for an evening meal here next time we visit the beautiful city of Wells.

Excellent festive lunch. Beautifully prepared food - very well presented - flavoursome and all enjoyed by the 3 diners with different menu choices. Great friendly service and nice wines too to compliment.

Fabulous food, absolutely top notch! Been eating here for years but last nights meal was the best ever. The restaurant was very busy but that didn’t affect the service. Our party of six all had a great evening.

Excellent supper: Two courses of delicious, well balanced food. Beautifully presented grilled goats cheese with an imaginative, warm, salad, followed by a main of superb scallops. Accompanied by two glasses of different, but perfectly complementary white wine, which were helpfully suggested by the front of house. Only criticism : the restaurant could have been a little warmer, but it was a day of sudden cold ! Certainly intend to return.

Another delicious lunchtime meal with a friend. The fish (cod with pumpkin tagliatelle and samphire ) was superb and beautifully presented, followed by a light blackcurrant souffle dessert. A wonderful restaurant. Thank you.

We have been going to Goodfellows regularly for some years - though not as often as we would like because we live about an hour’s drive away. The cooking has consistently been superb; regardless of whether you’re sitting down for a set lunch or a five course tasting menu. The food at Goodfellows is always inventive without being fussy and incredibly well-balanced. Add to this delightful service, a carefully chosen wine-list curated by a world-class sommelier & a very reasonable final bill and you have one of the West Country’s finest restaurants.

Third visit to the restaurant this year and each time as good as the last. Took 2 guests to the restaurant this time and they were amazed at the quality of food delivered from the kitchen. The standard is high and hopefully will remain so.

We had an exceptional meal at Goodfellows. Every mouthful was carefully conceived and beautifully executed. All five courses complemented each other extremely well and all five plates were licked clean!
